The hotel was built in 1500. The hotel has 103 rooms, including 10 suites, 13 single rooms and 76 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the 24-hour reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. The Magical Gritti Palace

We finally managed to return to Venice after about 11 years, and same as our previous visits, we stayed at the amazing Gritti Palace. The hotel is right on the Grand Canal, with its own taxi pier. We were welcomed and whisked off to reception, checked in and shown to our room in record time. The room was spotlessly clean, a nice size and with daily complimentary water. The bed was absolutely huge and the room itself was very comfortable all round. The weather wasn’t the greatest the first day, so we sat in the bar having a drink and some bites and doing a bit of people watching as the staff in the bar looked after us. Breakfast is buffet style with cooked options off the menu, coffee and drinks on tap, and of course, mimosas if you like! The staff at breakfast (and all over the hotel too) were extremely attentive and very helpful. Nothing was a problem for them. The first day we were inside, but the second day we were lucky enough to be out on the terrace. What an absolutely amazing experience this is, having breakfast on the Grand Canal and watching the gondoliers, taxis, water buses etc going about their day. There really is something magical about the whole experience. Location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the San Marco square and the Rialto Bridge, and quite easy to navigate to and from the hotel. Again, the staff are so friendly and helpful, and they and the hotel are still awesome after all these years, and we will definitely be back next year.

Stayed for 2 night in a beautiful room. Service and surroundings are sublime but €32 for a Campari Spritz and €3k per night for a room makes it a limited experience for mere mortals.

Venice at its best

We stayed here after much research and recommend recommendations from fellow traveler and friends. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. The history of this building and its previous guest, especially Ernest Hemmingway is surreal. Attention to detail and the service was exactly what you would expect from a hotel of this stature.In addition, the location is second to none along with the superb restaurant and bar. I highly recommend the seven course set meal at the doge restaurant There’s a reason this is the highest rated hotel on TripAdvisor

Grazie Gritti for an amazing Venetian vacation! Such an amazing hotel, they really know how to look after you. We had the best time; beautiful accommodation, delicious food and amazing service, thank you. The location is perfect to enjoy all the splendour of Venice; such fun in the water taxis, amazing walks in the local streets & across the bridges. Be sure to stop in one of the local Bacaro’s for lunch.
