    No hot water, No heat, No Accountability

    This was the last stop on a two-week tour of Italy. When we arrived the entrance was poorly marked. On checking in the “manager” was sarcastic and rude. We didn’t care as we were all exhausted and ready to shower and head to bed before a 5:30am flight. After lugging our bags up two flights of stairs (there is no lift) we entered a poorly cleaned, damp room with no heat. Then, I tried the shower. There was absolutely no hot water. “Deena” from the front desk came up to the room and announced that the frigid water was “as good as it gets here”. She seemed to think this was hilarious. We left for dinner and on returning the room was COLD. We froze for several hours before heading out to catch the shuttle we booked prior to our stay. The shuttle was overcrowded and dropped us off on the road leading into the airport (not even at the terminal). On checking out, the man at the desk didn’t even look up or acknowledge us in any way. Others were in the lobby complaining about a lack of heat and hot water when we returned from dinner. Avoid this place!     Despite the name, this is a comfy and homey hotel in a cluster of modest traditional buildings, and very reasonably priced. My room was rather small and without a desk, but quite functional for a short stay and with a nice bathroom and high-quality bedding. As in many hotels I gave up trying to regulate the heating, though the room did reach a comfortable temperature, so I must have pressed the correct buttons after all. Breakfast was extra, and of a decent standard, though the shuttle was a bit overpriced at 15 € - the hotel is almost walkably close to the terminal!     The Best Hotel in Venice

    This was my first time ever in Italy 🇮🇹 and had no idea which hotel to choose from. I only had two days before heading back to the States.Took a chance on this one. Didn't read reviews or have a frame of reference. Just booked it since I was going solo...Needless to say, the hotel and the staff EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS. I booked a superior room which was a suite and it was immaculate. Room was very clean, very modern, and very cozy. It felt like being home.The location was perfect right by the airport and only 20 mins away from all the major landmarks and places in Venice so that was a huge plus.The bigger and most important perk however was the staff. Two staff members in particular made my first time in Venice as memorable and comfortable beyond my expectations and imagination. Dina and Claudio. Dina was instrumental in advising me on places to go see during my very short stay. She was brilliant. Claudio was equally amazing. His calm and professional disposition provided warmth and clarity. He directed me accordingly to the post office, ensured I was comfortable throughout my entire stay, and made sure I got to the airport for my departure seamlessly and without a hitch. In essence, it's not only the place you visit which makes a difference... It's the people who facilitate your stay and embrace you while making sure your stay is as memorable and amazing as possible.     The CONS far outweigh the PROS

    I have traveled extensively to many countries and can put up with a lot but buyer beware on this one. We booked via Expedia and upon check-in after a very long flight, we were met with the rudest women who was very short and acted like she did not want to be bothered. She had this attitude not only at check-in but when asked for help getting a cab and booking dinner. PROS: room was clean with nice loft, shuttle available to take you to the airport and dinner venue. CONS: Rude attitude towards paying guest, they turn off toilets at night, elevator does not work, shuttle is very dirty and smelly. We did not use the breakfast so can't comment on that. I would not recommend staying here unless you really have to.
