  Nice hotel, very good location

  I spent 4 nights in this charming hotel in 2026 September. This trip was my retirement gift for myself.?? Location was just perfect 1 minute walk from Arena.. a couple of minutes from shopping street and 10 minutes from Giulia’s balcony..Staff were polite enough, breakfast was delicious.. Only one problem was next the hotel was a burger place and their guests were loudly shouting til 2 am every night.. than the garbage truck came at 4 am and collected garbages and glass bottles with really loud noise. So I couldn’t rest at night. This is not the hotel fault but yet!Recommend the wine tasting tour and an opera in the Arena.

  We're tough critics - trust me, stay there!

  Trust me. Stay there. We found this hotel to meet our exacting standards in the comfort of its rooms, its perfect location and above all, service. The rooms were beautifully kept, the reception area a delight to sit in, easy walking distance to main sights and restaurants and utterly attentive staff.   Excellent Historic Hotel in a Great Location

  The Hotel Colomba d’Oro is an historic hotel ideally located steps away from Piazza Brà and the Verona Arena. The hotel has all the amenities I expect in a 4-star hotel, including private parking garage, a bar, free high-speed WiFi, concierge, room service, and full laundry and dry-cleaning service. We enjoyed relaxing in their quiet, inner courtyard that serves as a charming lounge. Our spacious, smoke-free room had air conditioning, a desk, a minibar, large flatscreen tv, hairdryer, safe, soundproofing, and quality linen and towels. The complimentary buffet breakfast was delicious, and the concierge and front desk staff were friendly and very helpful with our daily activities planning. The hotel is located across the street from an excellent restaurant, Torcola, and a block or two from several other quality dining options, including Il Punto Rosa. The building that houses the Hotel Colomba d’Oro was constructed 700 years ago under the Della Scala dynasty during the fourteenth-century golden age of Verona—the same Verona used by Shakespeare as the setting for his romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet. In 1337 the palazzo was built to house the Convent of San Donato alla Colomba. In the early nineteenth century when Verona came under Austrian rule, the former convent was transformed into a luxury hotel in the tradition of the finest hotels found throughout the Habsburg Empire. The Hotel Colomba d’Oro offers an ideal retreat for a romantic weekend or a few days of exploring the city's historic core steeped in over two thousand years of antiquity. Verona contains an exceptional collection of Roman and Medieval monuments and ruins nestled beautifully within a sweeping bend of the Adige River. The cost of our stay was reasonable considering the value of their accommodations, amenities, and location. I highly recommend this beautiful historic hotel; we will stay here on our next visit to romantic Verona.   Policy of turning the A/C off from 2 AM to 8 AM in the summer without warning not 4 Star. Hopefully addressed

  The owner’s short sighted money hungry cheap policy of turning the A / C off at night from 2 AM to 8 AM is not acceptable as a four star hotel.On our late arrival the room was very hot. In knowing of our stay it should have been on already but did not have time to cool down and we were not informed it would be going off at 2 AM. It was a miserable night. I got dressed at 2:30 AM and talked to the manager. He explained this outrageous policy and said he could move us to another room but it would not have A/C either. He suggestion was to open a window during this weather alert for bad air.The next day they said the hours of A/C operation would be extended so we stayed instead of moving hotels.That last one day. I complained again in writing and the very hard working and delightful staff announced they convinced the owner to leave the A/C on. The staff is very good and were very very apologetic and understood. I recommend this hotel if they will promise to keep the A/C on. Great location. As the first seasonal heat arrives, the air conditioning is usually not immediately activated 24 hours a day, but rather with a break of a few hours at night: this is not for economic savings, but for environmental sustainability - of course as long as it does not affect the full comfort of our guests. Unfortunately, when the seasonal heat increases very suddenly, as happened during your stay, the transition to 24-hour air conditioning may not be perceived as immediate. Your feedback has been important: ensuring full comfort of our guests is a priority for us.   Good Location, would not stay again.

  Location was good for walking to sites and from the station should you prefer a non cab ride ( a bit of a hike , but doable ) We found the room to be very dated as is the hotel. The bed was rock hard and noise from the street was quite present ( even though requested a quiet room ). The front desk staff was OK , helpful but felt an underlying smirkiness. I would not stay again.
