    NOT a 5 star hotel !The majority of reviews rate this hotel highly ! Why ? As an ex hotel general manager I know they are NOT correct !The hotel is a mess and managed by hard working staff who appear to do anything and everything !The so called antiques present as an overcrowded museum and what attractive items there are, are lost in the chaotic method of presentation !!!Breakfast is an absolute shambles despite the efforts of ONE yes ONE member of staff to serve over 60 guests ! !!! The breakfast is an absolute joke with no insight into how a guest is supposed to wade their way through so much niff naff and trivia ! This is not to even mention late comers who scramble for the remains of breakfast items !Seats are covered in protective cloth which ride up underneath you !The bedrooms lack any modern amenities such as a coffee machine or modern bathroom facilities ! And the so called a/c keeps you awake at night !I hope you enjoy walking 4 flights of steps as with one list that invariably was not operating prepare yourself for some physical exercise !I could go on and on with criticism!!!Stay at another hotel and don’t waste your £500 per night !!!

    We’ve stayed at this hotel 2x: once about 15 years ago; and again this May, It is still fabulous! The hotel is quaint, romantic, and it couldn’t be better located near the historic piazza, great restaurants and the main attractions. By the way, the staff is very helpful and nice!

    Hotel Gabbia d’Oro is a real gem next to Piazza delle Erbe in Verona. It’s old (very old) and that’s part of what makes it special. The place has a quiet elegance and a bit of quirkiness: a tiny vintage lift, huge brass keys, and a bar that feels straight out of another century.What really makes the hotel stand out, though, is the service. It’s simply first-rate. Check-in was easy, they helped with transportation and dinner reservations, and everyone I met was kind and genuinely thoughtful. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a separate sitting room.As an example of the service, I had a very early flight, and as I sat in the lobby waiting for my taxi, the doorman brought me a cup of coffee and two croissants without me even asking. That small gesture encapsulated the entire experience. It was warm, personal, and full of old-world care.A beautiful, memorable stay that I’d recommend without hesitation.

    Finally. I have walked past this place for many years, first as a traveler and then as a resident. And always thought - I want to stay there someday!!!!A crisis sent me looking for a place to stay - and I remembered here and booked. Jr suite with bathtub. It was a lovely 3 night stay. I wish I’d been there earlier, though!!!!

    The Hotel Gabbia D'Oro is a charming hotel located conveniently at the Piazza delle Erbe. The hotel offers an abundant and tasty breakfast surrounded by old world elegance. The staff are gracious and helpful. I would gladly stay here again.
