    Disappointing Stay – Not a 4-Star Experience

    rating27 Jul 2025

We booked five nights at Antares last minute due to poor weather in the mountains where we had booking originally, choosing the Verona region for its sunny forecast. Unfortunately, we made the decision based solely on attractive photos of the pool area and didn't read any reviews — something we quickly came to regret. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was not going to be a relaxing stay. The hotel is located in the middle of an industrial zone, accessible only by car, and the building itself resembles a prison from the outside.Inside, things didn’t improve. The hotel felt neglected and unclean, with outdated furnishings, rusted doors, broken lamps, stained curtains, and a dirty air conditioning unit. The room came with just one bath towel per person and no hand towels. Despite asking for additional towels daily, housekeeping consistently removed them without replacing them. The bathroom was especially disappointing — the shower was extremely small and dirty, to the point that it felt unhygienic to use. It seems the property hasn’t seen any meaningful renovation in decades.Additionally, while the hotel advertises a spa and fitness center, both have been closed for quite some time, which was never communicated on the website or at the time of booking. This might be a tolerable stopover for one night if you arrive late and leave early, but it’s absolutely not suitable for a multi-day holiday. Antares falls far short of the standards expected from a 4-star hotel, and sadly, our only real desire during the stay was to leave as soon as possible.

    Great for School Groups

    rating17 Jul 2025

To be clear about context, we visited with a 40 plus strong music group from the UK, on a tour of the Lake Garda/Verona area. This was our second time at the hotel and it served our purposes very well. Reception were super helpful and pleasant, and the buffet style food meant there was something of good quality for everyone, and allergies and dietry requirements were taken care off. The pool and sports areas are great, and our students enjoyed using them, as much as they enjoyed chilling out and playing cards of a morning/evening. The rooms are great. Yes, there are problems with some, e.g. a shower that needed a bit of imagination to get it working or a leak from the room above, that was swiftly dealt with by the staff. but the AC worked very well, and the beds were comfortable, and rooms were cleaned daily. We left our rooms as we found them, and the staff were happy to return our full deposit, no problem. The biggest issue we had was with other groups disrespecting the hotel rules, which are very clear, in particularly a group called Academica Brittanica, who seemed to let their kids make as much noise as they liked when going to their rooms in the hours of midnight to 1am.But overall a great stay, and we experienced nothing of the negative reviews found here. Would thoroughly recommend for school groups.

BLACK MOLD in a hotel room is no laughing matter. Immediate health concerns aside not something to make fun of someone

    rating27 Jun 2025

Worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. First of all the rooms of my colleagues and I weren’t even ready yet. Then when they were problems began to arise. The biggest one above all else is the rooms had BLACK MOLD and they were brushing it off when we brought this up and laughed at us and made fun of us. Later on after we left some people we knew stayed and the pool was shut down for black mold. Health concerns aside the rooms had a shower in the sleeping area that was clear glass you could see through and some of us were sharing a room. I have no desire to shower in front of people. The door on one of the rooms didn’t close. When asked for a refund they laughed at us acting like we were lying even after showing them the proof. It wasn’t until I had to raise my voice then suddenly they listened. I will never be back and this place should be condemned.
