This hotel is definitely not a 4 star. The reception area is nice and probably the only area that looks 4 star. We booked a family room for 4 nights. The room was very dated looked like something out of the 80's the bathroom was also very dated. The bathroom had thick mould in corners and the ceiling had paint flakes coming from it like a snail trail.Breakfast was very bleak, nothing was replenished. Tables weren't cleaned up quick enough for guests to sit. Rubbish bags left smelling at the front of the hotel which wasn't a good luck.The hotel is in a residential area with good transport links to Verona centre but there's nothing around there to eat so make sure you stay in the centre.I wouldn't recommend this hotel as a 4 star. 3 at the most.

Clean rooms, but breakfast needs improvement

Pros: Cleanliness, Great Reception Staff, Working AC & FridgeCons: Poor Breakfast Service?Hotel Maxim is decorated in a classic, traditional style. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed, including a fully functional air conditioner and a working refrigerator.?The main downside of our stay was the breakfast. It was very weak, mostly due to a severe shortage of staff overseeing the dining area. Key food items were constantly missing, and the coffee machine was frequently out of service.?However, the highlight of our stay was Shenal from the reception team. He deserves special recognition! Shenal was extremely patient, super helpful, and always ready to answer any questions we had. His energetic and positive personality really brightened our trip.

An absolute nightmare from start to finish – dirty, poorly maintained, uncomfortable, and completely unworthy

Our stay at Hotel Maxim in Verona was an absolute nightmare!!! and far below the standards you would expect from a hotel advertised as a four-star property.We arrived late in the evening after a long journey, hoping for a quick check-in and some rest. To our surprise, one of our rooms was still not ready. We had to wait an additional 40 minutes before we could finally access it. After an exhausting day this was extremely frustrating and highly unprofessional.The hotel itself feels neglected and outdated. The rooms are old, the furnishings are worn out, and the overall cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. There is a clear lack of maintenance and attention to detail throughout the property. Some areas look as if they have not been renovated for decades.The biggest disappointment, however, was the mattresses. They were extremely uncomfortable, worn out, and provided very poor sleep quality. Instead of feeling rested, we woke up tired and with back pain.After reading other guests’ reviews, it became clear that our experience was not an isolated incident. Many visitors mention outdated rooms, cleanliness issues, poor maintenance, and a general lack of quality that is difficult to reconcile with the hotel’s four-star rating.I would definitely not recommend this hotel. Verona offers far better accommodation options for a similar price. We certainly will not be returning to Hotel Maxim.

Do yourself a favour and NEVER book with them

I booked the stay for 20 people in booking.com where automatically group policy is applied. This meant that free cancelation and payment can be made 30 days before the stay. 3 months before the stay all the money had been taken from the card without my consent. I asked booking.com why did this happen - they told me to ask the hotel. So I did. They told me that they would get in touch with booking.com. 21 days go past so I ask them if they have any updates. Then 20 days later I finally get a response from the general manager Gabriela. I will quote my favourite lines from her message "I already told you that we didn’t charged your credit card!!! Booking.Com do it so ask them why!!!!!", "We charged the credit card of Booking.Com after they charged you!!!" "Ask them why!!". I had been nothing but polite and this is what the GENERAL MANAGER responds with. All I wanted was to be assured that I would be able to cancel a room + they had said that they will contact booking.com. After that I contacted booking.com again. Long story short - I couldn't cancel the room even if I did it on time. The hotel could had canceled it but they didn't. Now let's talk about the actual stay.On the second day of the stay there were only scraps of food left at the breakfast buffet and it was only 7.10 AM! The breakfast started at 7AM. From 7.10AM till 8AM no food was refilled. By 8AM we all had left.The housekeeping had thrown the clothes that were on the bed on the floor(carpet) when making the beds and didn't pick them up. I doubt that the carpet gets ever deep cleaned so it wasn't pleasant wearing these dirty clothes.From around 10PM till 2AM there were people partying in the hallway and shouting and you can easily hear them.Dear all, please don't support this hotel by booking a stay with them. This has been a total nightmare and I woudn't want anyone to experience what we did.

For staying a few nights is good hotel. It is comfort bed, good food, nice and welcoming stuff. It is placed in at night quite neighborhood, below is market and cosmetic shop. I'll recommend hotel.
