  Hotel quiet comfortable and friendly

  Location good in a very quiet area. It takes around a 25 min walk into centre of Verona or local buses and taxis readily available.Hotel has a very relaxed environment, staff were very nice, polite and helpful. Sitting area lovely with a small bar.Our room was very clean but net curtains could do with a wash, bit smelly. Another negative was down stairs toilets are in one room and were unisex, we felt it having at least a sign on a couple of the toilets dedicated for female only would have been preferable.However, an all round comfortable, affordable and cosy hotel.

  Brilliant hotel

  Fabulous hotel in walking distance to the city. Staff very friendly and polite. Thanks especially to Alexandro on the reception who was so helpful. Rooms lovely and clean & towels changed everyday. Breakfast was great. The hotel was in a great location, we walked into the city everyday, we will return!

  The shower is dangerously slippery

  We stayed here on 15 September. Nice enough hotel. Some of the facilities are a bit dated. Handy for people who have a car but a fair walk into town. Walking in Verona means everybody apart from pedestrians seems to have priority.My main issue with this hotel is the lethally slippery shower. We were on the 4th floor and the shower was tiled, including a tiled area to sit, if required. There were no non-slip mats available and no grab handles in the shower. The floor became like an ice rink when it was wet and there was nothing to help prevent you from slipping. I slipped and am seriously bruised, stiff and sore as a result. I reported the incident to the receptionist and completed their English language contact form but I have had no response

  Could be a great hotel... if only ?

  Location not great, 1/2hr walk to centre of verona, there is a bus stop right outside hotel and bus costs 2 euro, frequent during the day but after 8.30pm is only every 45mins and changes from No. 11 during day, to No.80 or 81 at night. Approximately 12 euro by taxi from arena in verona centre to hotel. We arrived on a Wednesday and bar in hotel was closed that night, we were told it was closed on a Wednesday but is open all other nights until 11pm. We arrived back at 8.45pm on Thursday night, bar was open and we were in process of ordering drinks when server told us to hurry up and decide what we wanted as he had to go ! He then closed the bar and sat talking to someone else in hotel foyer. Other guests arrived back at hotel at this time and clearly were wanting to order a drink. They were Completely ignored by the man that served us and he actually got up and walked past the guests wanting a drink and through door to stairs....poor show !Two of the power sockets in our room didn't work, we only had a sheet on double bed and there was only 1 blanket in cupboard that covered half of the bed.We asked if we could have a duvet or quilt to be told that only blankets were available. Breakfast was good, not a great choice of fruit and the few bananas available were extremely over ripe.The attendant on duty the nights we arrived back tried his best but was not a great help.When we asked night attendant in hotel about a drink when the hotel bar was shut, he suggested we walk 5 -10 away from hotel as there was a local pub that was open to 11pm. We had actually just returned from the area he suggested and saw the pub . We returned quickly to hotel as my wife did not feel safe, we were approached by a man asking for money and the pub suggested certainly would not be the type of establishment either my wife or I would even consider using..I unfortunately, for the reasons given, could not recommend this hotel .

  Not a great hotel if you are disabled

  I am writing this review to ensure other disabled travellers are aware of what I experienced during my stay.When I arrived at the hotel, I discovered that extensive renovations were underway. Ceilings were missing throughout the hallways, wires were hanging down, and ladders and building materials were left on the floor. As someone with severe dust allergies, this created an unsafe environment for me. I had to take additional medication and ultimately made the decision to leave before my condition worsened.Accessibility was also a major issue. Although the hotel was advertised as accessible, the only lift available to me as a wheelchair user was the lift used for rubbish, goods, and maid trollies. It was visibly dirty and not a dignified or appropriate option for disabled guests. Regardless of what the hotel chooses to call this lift, its condition and use made it unsuitable for safe and comfortable access.I contacted Lastminute.com, who handled my booking, and was told they were unaware of the renovations and that the hotel had assured them the works would not affect guests. This was not my experience. I was also told that the hotel does not refer to the lift as a freight lift, and therefore it was considered acceptable for disabled guests to use. I strongly disagree.I am sharing this because I do not want other disabled travellers to find themselves in the same situation. If you rely on accessible facilities, I would recommend confirming accessibility directly with the hotel before booking, rather than relying solely on the description provided by booking websites.My experience left me feeling disappointed and let down, and I hope that by sharing it, other disabled travellers can avoid similar issues.
