Lower your expectations - not a ‘Palace’

    rating20 May 2026

Two major problems; no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms and the bar closed around 9pm daily. The staff are superb; coping with a too small breakfast room & unable to deliver the daytime ‘service’ due to them being very busy. Daytime bar is not manned so some poor soul has to answer the call bell. Not conducive to a great guest experience.Other positives; beds are huge and very comfortable and the place is spotless. One excellent restaurant in easy walking distance.Other negatives; no shuttle into town, no evening meal available, no English TV channels, thin walls.

Great location. Pleasant stay. More a 3-star

    rating10 May 2026

We have just spent a few nights in this hotel. It is conveniently located within 20 minutes walk from the main city centre and in a quiet location. The hotel is spotlessly clean but there is very little atmosphere. Breakfast is plentiful but the hot food was generally cold. Reception is a little uninviting and the staff don't seem to be at the front desk very often. We have to give ten stars though to the hotel cab driver whose name we did not get unfortunately.. He took us back to the airport at 6am for our departure. We have two issues, one is that the bar closed around 8pm most evenings when we understood it was 10pm. What you must be careful of is that although the hotel advertises a restaurant we were told it was not open for us (as a couple), and only for groups of visitors and those staying for a conference or a meeting. This advice is very misleading. We booked because there was an advertised restaurant on site in case we didn't want to go out in the evening. This was more than disappointing. There are plenty of bars and restaurants fairly close by after a short walk. The breakfast staff were pleasant and attentive. There is a cafe about a hundred yards away (Cafe Galvani). Well worth a visit. The owner is very friendly and the food available very good. All in all visiting Verona was hugely enjoyable as we expected but we feel a couple of things at the hotel should be addressed

Controversial information provided by this ''hotel'' in booking condition.

    rating29 Apr 2026

I would like to draw attention to a significant inconsistency in the information provided by the hotel during the booking process. The official booking policy, which is clearly displayed and forms part of the reservation conditions, explicitly states: “Included in this rate: Self parking for one vehicle per room per stay.”However, the booking confirmation says a parking spot is not guaranteed, and guests must find parking themselves. This was also confirmed by reception staff. This contradictory and misleading information made me cancel the booking. Guests travelling by car should be aware of this inconsistency before reserving.

Excellent hotel, clean - amazing staff - Alessandro, Ilenia and Sebastian all helped us with info etc and Gishan the private hotel driver is very friendly amd reasonable priced. We used him a few times which was more convenient and cheaper than taxis. I would stay here again, thanks guys…

Palace Hotel Verona: Comfortable Stay with Great Service

    rating05 Aug 2025

We enjoyed our stay overall. The bathroom was particularly delightful with its vibrant and colourful design. The room was clean, and the wide beds were appreciated, though they were slightly hard, and the extra bed provided was a bit small. The hotel has a fairly fancy appearance, with nice touches such as the Italian leather seating in the reception area, which felt plush and welcoming. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, quickly arranging taxis whenever we needed one. The piano in the lobby area added a pleasant atmosphere, and the availability of a bar serving hot chocolate was enjoyable, with complimentary tea available each evening.Dinner on our first night was convenient and appreciated. However, breakfast was a weaker aspect, offering a basic continental selection—more than just bread rolls but still fairly simple compared to what we’re accustomed to in the UK.The hotel seems best suited to short stays, particularly for business or city visits, as there’s no pool or extensive activities for children. The lift felt rather small and claustrophobic, so keep that in mind if you prefer more spacious accommodations.Overall, a solid choice if you’re looking for comfort, cleanliness, and good service.
