    Highly recommend this hotel

    rating13 May 2026

I stayed at this hotel from last week Thursday to yesterday and have to say the staff were incredibly friendly and coming to the hotel as a solo traveller this is very important to me. The room was definitely bigger than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. The bed was extremely comfortable more so after the first 2 nights after my body had adjusted to being in a bed that’s not my own. My only criticism was that there was no kettle, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits in the room which I found a bit disappointing. Also the shower although this was fine to use the main monsoon shower head didn’t seem to work properly so I had to use the hose as an alternative. But I actually preferred this in the end so nothing really major. All in all this hotel is in a relatively good location and makes for a pleasant walk into the centre of Verona. Also if you plan to make day trips to places like Sirmione, Trento or Bolzano Stazione Porta Nuova is easily accessible by foot in about 20 minutes.

Very disappointing stayed with some good points to share

    rating20 Sept 2025

We stayed in a superior room with a balcony. The room itself had a large made made up of two queen beds attached together. There was a single bed in the room if you wanted a family room. I was a little surprised it was there. The bathroom was large with a jacuzzi bath and shower and sink. Very limited toiletries provided. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room, which was frustrating . Our room with balcony was very noisy as it faced onto the pool but also a very busy road. The position of the hotel near San Zeno was perfect and a 25 minute walk into central Verona.. The south proofing was non-existent as the very romantic couple next door was unaware of!The gym and wellness suite were closed and did not open until October. This was really disappointing and I think we must have missed this this huge detail when we booked our trip. The outside pool was clean but placed right next to the outside eating and drinking area, so not the most relaxing places to be in your swimsuit and relax.Breakfast was horrid. We found the lack of staff to be impactful. The person making the fresh coffee was also on cleaning tables and duties with no handfasting in between. It felt every morning like a school canteen, noisy and uncomfortable. Whilst there was a lot on offer, most of it tasted old and unpleasant. Have not had such a very poor breakfast experience in a long time. The staff were all very friendly although they did not offer to give us any local information on their beautiful city. Could not give four stars to this hotel and would not recommend it as a relaxing holiday due to the lack of facilities that were available both in the room and the wellness suite, the lack of space around the pool for family to enjoy time without diners, business meetings or people having a drink watching you and the breakfast was just horrid

Good but could be better if customer service/facilities improved

Stayed as part of bike tour. Pleasantly surprised by size and quality of rooms. Good location for walking into Verona. Swimming pool area a bonus but somewhat overcrowded and charge for towels a bit measly for a 4 star hotel. Another downside is only food option was overpriced toasties!

Walking distance or bus ride from historic Verona

    rating29 Sept 2024

Hotel San Marco is outside the historic walls of Verona. It's a good, clean and functional modern hotel with an outside swimming pool. Breakfast is an extensive buffet with some hot offerings. There is a bar. Rooms with ensuite and some with balconies. For those fit travellers the walk to the historic areas is pleasant and fascinating inside the walls / through historic gates. Restaurants are best found inside the walls, albeit some local eateries in the area. A Lidl supermarket is close by.

    Home for 5 nights!

    rating13 Aug 2024

Took a long time selecting where to stay in Verona for our opera trip. We were not disappointed. Our room was very comfortable, good a/c great bathroom and excellent housekeeping. Hotel is B&B only, breakfast was excellent with good choice. The bar was open all day for drinks including late when we returned from the opera at 1am. The reception team were most helpful and booking a taxi was so easy and arrived promptly. Number 11 bus across the road takes you straight to the centre of the city via the train station. Thank you!
