  as mentioned location good, both railway/bus station and city’s historical areas. Room spotlessly clean but a wide angled lens does wonders to photographs. took much time in researching this hotel but sorry did not live up to our expectations. breakfast room very tight and food not replaced even at 0915. Staff not overly friendly. Hotel Scalzi, Direttore generale at Hotel Scalzi, responded to this review We are sorry you didn't enjoy the experience as expected but they say that a second chance has always to be given so we really hope to have you here again.

  Best Location, Good hospitality and Relax !

  Location : Near Porta Nuova railway station ( 7 minutes walking ), supermarket and public attractions Room: very clean, smell good and the most important i love the shower pressure and hot water ! Hospitality : so if you come more than 8 pm , you should contact the property coz there is no receptionist at night. But still its soooo easy to manage :) For me i love this hotel because its not in the noise area, yet still reachable to go anywhere.   A great time in Verona!

  Hotel Scalzi is located close to the historical centre and the station - it is therefore ideal for sightseeing. We had a variety of rooms which were all clean and well equipped. Elisa and the other staff were all friendly and very helpful. There is a relaxed atmosphere about the hotel. The breakfasts are good too! We (a group of 10) thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Verona and nearby Sirmione - to be recommended.   Perfect for a Quick Stopover, But Choose Your Room Wisely

  Super convenient if you’re coming by train: just a 10-minute walk from Verona Porta Nuova and another 10–15 minutes to the Arena and historic centre. Location really is spot-on.Reception and common areas are genuinely charming, proper classic Italian elegance with a lovely lounge on the second floor where you can help yourself to free tea/coffee and magazines. Feels warm and cosy.Breakfast is included and honestly excellent, easily worth paying extra for if it wasn’t: fresh pastries, proper coffee, good selection of cheeses, hams, yoghurts, fruit. Big highlight.Now the single room… oof. It was a let-down. Tiny, tired, old furniture, dark carpet that instantly gives that “slightly grubby motel” vibe no matter how clean it actually is. Felt very cheap and dated. The bed was genuinely comfy and the shower was powerful and hot, with basic toiletries provided, but that’s literally all the positives I can give it.For a one-night crash before heading to the airport it did the job perfectly, I slept well and left happy, but if you’re staying longer than that, be very careful which room category you book (the photos of doubles/superiors look miles better).Solid, no-frills 2-star experience: brilliant location, friendly staff, top breakfast… just don’t get stuck in a basic single like I did!   Nice breakfast, but dark room.

  Clean room. The hotel room we were allocated was very dark with not much lighting. The air con wasn’t great and didn’t really cool the room very well. We were allocated a room with a mezzanine, which meant the bathroom was downstairs, this wasn’t stipulated at the time of booking, not great if you have mobility issues. Unfortunately we couldn’t change rooms as no others were available. The breakfast was very good and the ladies in the breakfast room were very helpful and accommodating. Liked the fact the room had tea making facilities in it. The hotel is approx 10 minutes walk from the old town.
