$46.00 for a bungalow in Rome? This was a pleasant surprise - Sep 2023

  06 Oct 2025

Not your typical Roman Holiday! I booked the Gita California last minute as a stop after arriving to FCO airport for the night before heading to Port Venere. What a great find. At $46.00 our bungalow was perfectly clean - the atmosphere was pure family fun. The pool was packed and the music was playing. In the evening people were BBQ'ing dinner - or picking up pizzas from the restaurant - which has a full menu. The resort store is full service - with an amazing deli counter. For breakfast had expresso and croissant from the "ice cream" counter and ate our left over pizza I heated on the stove in our room.Pitch a Tent, park a caravan, rent a canvas tent, or bungalow for a unique and pleasant experience just outside of Rome - what a happy discovery. The Downfall of a once beautiful establishment, 2022 will have been my last visit… unfortunately

  30 Aug 2022

The maintenance of the establishment has taken a steep downfall, the grass is not looked after anymore, what once was a beautiful garden is now 70 percent sand. The pool is not cleaned anymore, the water is often not clear and they gave up on fixing the broken spa parts of the pool which is a shame, they just leave them broken. If you wish to go to the bathroom while you are at the beach or at the pool you must go back to your stay or main public bathrooms because the pool bathrooms have now been turned into private bathrooms for waiters only which is ridiculous. The restaurant serves frozen dishes or dishes that have been prepared long before you arrived and warmed up on the spot with a microwave (if you decide to try it, you will not be going back..). Lastly they have reduced their prices and you can tell by the new clientele. What was once a beautiful establishment comparable to a resort is now at a 2 star hotel level. Club degli Amici Village, Direttore generale at Gitavillage California, responded to this review Dear Jonathan, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are very sorry to read of the difficulties you experienced during your stay with us.We are sorry to read this; the staff do their utmost to ensure the best possible service to our guests. The common areas are subject to frequent maintenance in order to keep them neat and tidy. Given the current weather emergency and this year's low rainfall, some formerly green areas may have suffered and lost some of their colour. We are particularly concerned about the protection of our planet and the resources that nature offers us; during the summer period, with the scarcity of water resources available, we were forced to reduce the use of water for the care of outdoor areas. Vegetation recovery will take time but we are applying and working on it, hoping that autumn will bring some healing rain.We take note of your report on the village toilets, and will consider what we can do to improve service where possible. We will also draw on your experience at the restaurant to avoid a recurrence of certain circumstances. We hope we can count you among our customers again so that we can demonstrate the quality and care of our service.Kind regards. Sorry, never again

  24 Aug 2022

I spent 2 weeks in a mobile home in this camping and the experience was not really as expected. While the price was aligned with the very high season in Italy, the quality of the offered services (all of them) was quite poor an not satisfactory. Information shared by the call center were different respect to what was told by the staff (inexperienced and not properly organised) and no customer care culture is indeed the key aspect of this negative review. Club degli Amici Village, Direttore generale at Gitavillage California, responded to this review Dear Giulio,Thank you for choosing our facility and for sharing your experience and opinion with us. We thank you for sharing with us your evaluation of the quality/price ratio; we are sorry to read that you rated the rate too high and we will strive to improve the quality and service of the facility even more.We are sorry to read that you did not find our staff's service up to your expectations. We can vouch for the level of professionalism of our staff, who are well trained and do their utmost to provide a quality and professional service. However, we will treasure your assessment and work to improve further. We look forward to counting you among our customers again so that we can demonstrate the quality and care of our service.Kind regards, Team Gitavillage California

beautiful sea, beach with lots of space, caravan camp terrible

  30 Jul 2021

Big disappointment. Fraud. You pay for a 40-50m2 caravan park-guaranteed on offer. In fact, it has an area of about 25 square meters! Toilets and showers in terrible condition and incredibly few for so many guests. More Turkish toilets? In the 21st century? In Europe? Disaster. The waste tank for caravans is very far and more than half a kilometer. Another negative: you must not park your car on the playground, a weak electric circuit breaker (I had to turn off all appliances on to use the kettle, even so the circuit breaker still fell out). Connections very far from some fields, you can not rent a longer cable or buy. Very little space when parking a caravan. Overall, the camp for an above-average price is well below the European average in terms of quality and equipment. Never more! Club degli Amici Village, Direttore generale at Gitavillage California, responded to this review Dear Customer,we are really sorry to read your review and that you didn't enjoy your stay at our camping village. If only you had reported something to us about the problems you had, we would have done something to help you and ensure you a more pleasant stay.
