Sometimes it’s the little things that make a holiday memorable - and unfortunately, the little things were missing here.

    rating22 Sept 2026

I’m 100% a “you get what you pay for” kind of person, and I genuinely don’t expect luxury when I haven’t paid for luxury. However, I do believe that kindness, respect and basic customer service cost absolutely nothing. There were definitely some positives. The food was actually really good - however very little choice and the all inclusive option isn’t really all inclusive as they have a set menu and you basically choose what meal you would like. The rooms are basic, which again is absolutely fine, and ours was clean. My only comment would be that I do think mattress protectors should be a standard in every hotel.I appreciate that we’re not exactly travelling in peak season, but unfortunately there was very little atmosphere during our stay and nothing that really made guests feel welcomed or valued. The biggest issue for me was the bar staff. They were extremely rude, and it seemed like almost every request was an inconvenience - even something as simple as asking for bottled water. One evening we were caught in a huge storm while having dinner. It was absolutely pouring with strong winds and debris everywhere. My mother-in-law was cold and wet, and as our room was a five-minute walk away, we simply asked if we could have a towel for her shoulders so she could stay warm until it was safe to walk back. The answer was a very firm no.I completely understand that staff have rules to follow, but in that particular situation, a little kindness and common sense would have gone a very long way. We weren’t asking for anything unreasonable - just a towel to keep a guest warm while we waited for the weather to calm down and have our dinner.Overall, the hotel itself wasn’t terrible. The food was good, the room was clean and, as I said, I understand that you get what you pay for.But the lack of warmth, friendliness and basic hospitality really let the place down. Guests should feel welcomed, not like they’re an inconvenience.I could go on about the bar staff, but honestly, I’d be here all day! ??Would I say don’t stay here? No. But if you do stay, just don’t expect many smiles when you’re being served. And definitely don’t ask for ice cream… apparently that’s asking for far too much! ????Sometimes it’s the little things that make a holiday memorable - and unfortunately, the little things were missing here.

    Apples to Apples

    rating14 Sept 2026

Overall, we had a wonderful 2 week stay. This is a different kind of experience, so make sure not to compare apples to oranges if you are a large resort person. This is a more basic experience and will not compare with a large chain hotel.Pros:- the beach was the absolute star of the trip. Seven Mile Beach is gorgeous with crystal clear water, plenty of star fish to see and a ray that glides up and down the beach each morning. The mornings were incredibly serene and beautiful - our favourite time of the day.- the location on the beach is great (other spots did not look quite as nice) and at this time of year it was not hard to get a beach chair (bring your own towels as they are not provided).- great security by Michael made things feel in hand safety wise.- the 2hr transfer was reliable and safe.- many of the staff are slow to warm up and smile, but are pleasant and friendly once they get to know you. There are a couple of staff who are really friendly and wonderful right from the start. Thank you, Vanessa and Carrie-Anne!- rooms are dated, but clean; beds comfortable- breakfasts were very nice and there was a daily omelette and egg station. Thanks, Jean!- beautiful beach view from restaurant.- there is a shuttle to the Samsara Cliff Resort each day for a varied experience- there is a live reggae band each Saturday, which was wonderfulCons:- as mentioned, the resort is in need of some care as parts are looking very run down, think wrought iron that is completely rusted through in some areas and crumbling cement.- there is a river run off when it rains which turns the water a murky brown for a good few hours. You can watch it come in. It is recommended to stay out of it.- the food was okay to very good, but not great. Some nights we enjoyed it and others we just ate to not be hungry. As there are only 2 main dinner options offered, if you don't like either, you will have to eat one. There are some resto options if you walk down the beach.- many of the towels were old and stained and should have already been retired. It took us a couple of days to manage our expectations, but ended up greatly enjoying our time at Legends.

Worst Resort Service I’ve Ever Experienced

    rating03 Aug 2026

I would not recommend staying at Legends Beach Resort in Negril, Jamaica. The only good thing about this resort is the beautiful beach. Unfortunately, everything else was a huge disappointment. The service was extremely poor. Most of the employees seemed like they had no customer service training. The woman serving food at the buffet acted as though she was serving in a prison cafeteria rather than a resort. She was unfriendly and made guests feel like they were a burden. Many of the other staff members never smiled or greeted guests. The reception staff were unpleasant, unprofessional, and not welcoming at all. The beach staff were also rude and unhelpful. The room was very noisy, making it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. The beach facilities were poorly managed. There were only five umbrellas for more than 35 guests, and there were no beach towels available. What was even more concerning was that, while relaxing on the beach, I was repeatedly approached by strangers attempting to sell drugs, including cannabis and cocaine. This made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe, and I did not see any effort to prevent these interruptions.Outside the front of the hotel, I was also repeatedly approached by taxi drivers trying to persuade me to pay for rides to various places. Some of these individuals also offered to sell drugs. The constant solicitation made it difficult to leave or return to the hotel without being hassled. For the price, this resort is simply not worth it. Save your money and choose another place to stay. The beach is beautiful, but that’s not enough to make up for the poor service, rude staff, noisy rooms, lack of basic amenities, and the uncomfortable experience both on the beach and outside the hotel. We’ll be coming back!

    rating20 Jul 2026

We were there for two weeks this time. We had a great time. I really wish the reviewers would lay off Jennifer. She’s always been very kind with us and she is kinda running that area, so she’s going to be flustered at times. Maria, Melissa, and Vanessa were great. My man Michael (the Archangel) does his job on the beach, and the same goes for him as for Jennifer: It’s easy to become exasperated when working security on the beach. We also find Michael to be a really good person. The housekeeping staff were sweethearts. My wife and I would ask them how they did during Hurricane Melissa, and when they told us, we usually had $50 for them. We decided we would help our friends out directly instead of going on GoFundMe. We were happy to do it given the numerous times they took care of us.My wife and I are careful not to leave stuff on the beach here at home, so we know to keep our stuff safe on the beach. Thieves are everywhere.Jane at the buffet and the whole kitchen staff are fantastic. They are overworked. I’ve never griped about waiting for an omelet. Not when that shoreline is staring you in the face.Is this a five-star resort? Of course not. We’ll be coming back next January, and we expect to have another blast.“Dem little but dem talawah!” Monika Lowry, Revenue Management at Legends Beach Hotel, responded to this review Thanks for the awesome review! We work hard to meet expectations like yours, and we’re happy to hear we hit the mark for you. Looking forward to having you stay with us again in the near future!
