Our Ultimate Home Away from Home in Negril — We Couldn’t Imagine Staying Anywhere Else!

    rating17 Sept 2026

My husband and I first fell in love with Rooms on the Beach Negril back in 2016, and after staying at various other places and all-inclusive resorts, nothing compares to the warmth, magic, and authentic hospitality of this lovely boutique hotel. Staying anywhere else in Jamaica honestly feels like cheating! This upcoming trip will mark our 6th stay at Rooms, and it truly gets better every single time.?The location simply cannot be beaten. You are steps right off Seven Mile Beach straight into the ocean. It’s ideal for walking to local stores and amazing restaurants, and you have fantastic spots like Woodstock right next door for great entertainment, along with Roots Bamboo and Margaritaville just a short, enjoyable stroll down the beach.?What truly makes Rooms Negril extra special, however, is the phenomenal team. A very special mention goes to Miss Grant, who takes such wonderful care of the property and its guests—she is an absolute gem of a lady, and her hospitality means the world to us! During one stay when I wasn’t feeling well, the team took care of me with such genuine kindness and warmth—they truly make you feel like family from the moment you arrive. Any minor kink that comes up is handled with care and classic "Jamaica time" grace.?The rooms are always spotlessly cleaned by a hardworking and detail-oriented housekeeping team, and they have been so kind to accommodate us with breathtaking oceanfront views that make every morning unforgettable. On top of all that, having a full-service restaurant, a great bar, and delicious included breakfast makes every day easy and relaxing.?We are counting down the days and so excited to be arriving back at Rooms in just 10 days for our 6th stay—we are truly looking forward to coming back home! If you are looking for an authentic, welcoming beach getaway with an incredible team that treats you like family, Rooms on the Beach Negril is absolute perfection.?Thank you to Miss Grant and the entire team for always making us feel so at home—we can’t wait to see you all very soon!

    Good for the price

A Great Budget-Friendly Option in Negril – Quiet, Simple and Great LocationIf you're looking for a **small, quiet, non-all-inclusive resort in Negril**, Rooms is a great option, especially if you're more interested in enjoying the beach, local restaurants, and Jamaica rather than spending your entire vacation at the resort.**Breakfast is included, and that's pretty much it.** There is no all-inclusive meal plan, which I actually enjoyed. There are plenty of restaurants and local food options just across the street and along the beach. You can easily get a **big, delicious Jamaican dinner for around US$10–20**. I really enjoyed the jerk chicken and fried chicken, and the portions of rice were generous. The good stuff ??The **staff was excellent**—friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay.My room was comfortable and clean, and the **AC worked great**, which is definitely important in Jamaica! ?? I also had a **great view from my balcony**.The resort itself is **very small**, which I really liked. The beach is just steps away, and because Rooms is located toward the quieter end of the famous **Seven Mile Beach**, there isn't a lot of traffic or noise. One thing I absolutely loved: **you don't have to wake up early to reserve a beach chair!** There were actually more chairs than guests during my stay. That's a huge plus compared with many resorts where people put towels on chairs at 6:00 a.m. and disappear for the day.The beach itself is beautiful, and the location makes it easy to walk to other restaurants, bars, and places along the beach.A few things to know ??The **pool was closed for about half of my stay**. The pump wasn't running and the pool wasn't being cleaned during that time. Hopefully this was just a temporary maintenance issue, but it's something worth knowing. Also, if you want a **refrigerator in your room, it's an extra US$70 for the week**. Personally, I was surprised that a fridge wasn't included in every room, especially in Jamaica where having cold drinks in your room is pretty convenient. And don't expect luxury-resort service. For example, when you check in, **they don't carry your luggage to your room**. But honestly, you get what you pay for, and I didn't have a problem with that.### ?? The value is hard to beatFor me, the value was excellent.I paid approximately **C$1,200 for one week in August**, including my flights from **Timmins to Toronto, Toronto to Montego Bay, transfers, and one week at Rooms with breakfast included**.For that price, I really can't complain. One money-saving tip: **don't buy all your beers at the resort!** ?? They were around **US$4 each** at the resort, but there is a store right across the street where you can buy a **24-pack of Red Stripe for around US$40**. Much better deal!Rooms isn't a luxury, five-star, all-inclusive resort—and that's not what it's trying to be.It's a **simple, affordable, quiet place with a great location directly on Seven Mile Beach**, excellent staff, comfortable rooms, and easy access to some fantastic local food.If you're looking for a place where you can **sleep comfortably, have breakfast, walk onto the beach, explore Negril, eat great Jamaican food, and avoid the huge all-inclusive resort atmosphere**, I would definitely consider Rooms. For what I paid, **I was very happy with my stay and would come back.****Great value, great location, beautiful beach, and great people. ??????****4/5 ????**

    First impressions are not good

    rating17 Aug 2026

First experience is not good .. why the people should pay for the fridge. We are traveling all around the world and was shocked when my husband was told to pay for fridge. I’m also working as Manager at the hospitality… to pay for fridge in Caribbean country is a shame ..I hope the Management will do something

Great Location, value vacay - ICE needed!

    rating08 Aug 2026

When we went previously the ice machine was broken. Is this fixed now? It was tough having no ice for 3 weeks in the heat when you are a drinking :) We would like to book again for October but this would depend on the ice machine working.

    Strange Hotel !!

    rating29 Jun 2026

A very strange and odd hotel. I’ve called them twice to confirm my reservation and it’s not cheap to call Jamaica from the UK and they don’t have a clue what’s going on. I speak to people who are security or a random person and that take my name and then nothing happens or they say they will call back. It’s a really bizarre experience calling them. I have no idea whose this place functions. Also I’ve heard that fine people for not smoking in the rooms. Should be renamed Rooms Where We Sniff.
