    Definitely not 5T

Unfortunately our trip to the Maldives was cancelled, which was a special birthday trip. We had very little time to book an alternative as our flights were cancelled with just over a week from our departure date. We couldn't change the dates so after reviewing all the information regarding this resort we decided to book, also given the fact that prices were jumping by the hour. Firstly there was no information that we were provided with that advised the transfer from Montego Bay would take the best part of 2 hours, this after a 9hr 45 min direct flight which was delayed by an hour. The transfer is private and arranged by the resort but we had to wait 30 minutes for our transfer to arrive before we left the airport, there was a small lounge exclusive for Couples resorts but all we wanted to do was get to our destination. When we arrived at the hotel, as some reviews have already mentioned the staff where disinterested with very little interaction. It didn't get any better, when we went to our room to unpack with the concierge, when we got into the lift and it looked terrible, scratched panelling finger prints on the services, it just looked grubby, that along with all the wet paint signs down the corridors, don't get me wrong I understand things need to be done but again not expected at a luxury resort. Once we go to the room, which was pleasant and had a full sea view the concierge showed us the storage, he struggled to pull the doors open and once open they almost overlapped and were really difficult to close, he brushed over this and didn't offer to move us or even do anything about it, like it was the norm. At this point we just wanted to have some food and a drink, we were advised where the restaurant was and for us this was another disappointment, maybe I was being naive but having seen all the information on this resorts website I wasn't expecting a buffet and after travelling for 13 hours it wasn't the greatest first impression. The next day and in the light of a new day the restaurant looked different, still a buffet but the staff were in the most attentive, a little slow but very pleasant. We then proceeded to the pool, which had a swim up bar which was very nice, a little rowdy at times but ok. I can't say that the drinks were great, a mixture of flavoured ice which a helping of rum on top. The really disappointing thing and again coming back to the website and the way drinks are presented nothing like as described, my partner likes to drink Mojito's and pretty much everyday there was no mint, G&T's no real tonic, no lemons, no limes and not even orange to add to an old fashioned, again noy a 5T experience. The second pool was a little quieter but as someone already mentioned, looked tired and there was often debris in the pool and sand where people didn't was there feet after being on the beach. Not even in the piano bar in the evening you could not get most drinks we liked, which are run of the mill we couldn't have due to missing ingredients. The themed restaurants which you could only book on certain night and not more that twice in a 5 day period were nice and the food was good, the Bayside in particular but as we were only there for a week we could only go once, there was an Ala carte restaurant you didn't need to book and didn't appear to be restricted which we ate in most nights was also nice. In summery, I kind of wished that I had just taken my refund for the Maldives as we had to pay more to go to this resort but I don't feel that it's worth the premium at all and the information regarding this resort from the official website and tour operators in my opinion is misleading and a number of the reviews seem to say the same.

    Awesome staff and spotless

    rating03 Apr 2026

First let me say I have now been to Jamaica 31 times, stayed all over the island from 3 stars to 5...This is not a 5 star resort however did have some positive attributes. The staff make the place, friendly and accommodating. The entire complex was spotless. Housekeeping in room was great, always had clean towels. Our first day was met with no shower head in shower... just long metal tube dangling...they fixed quicklySecond day we just got unpacked when they called to say we were being moved...due to replacing carpet in hallway - did they not know this when we were put in room just day before? However we did get upgraded to a nicer room..Food was decent but repetitious. The most perplexing issue is there are NO umbrellas at any seats by pool, we were fortunate to secure a seat under an almond tree. Did not use pool as it was frigid cold, was amused watching faces of those trying to step into it. Beach was covered in seaweed/algae... continuous efforts by staff with front end loaders scooping it into dump trucks.Unfortunately the weather was not great whole 10 days, saw sun couple days but at least it was warm and no snow! They did provide transportation to and from airport which was prompt with no issues.

A good trip just not the greatest

I will start with giving praise to a few employees that were very helpful and/or made our trip delightful. A server who was so pleasant and seemed to love his job was Deron. The pool bartenders who were friendly and made great drinks were Anieta and Tahjay. In the Piano Bar, Bryan and Marcel excelled every time we were there, which was every night. On the entertainment staff Rowe J made sure everyone felt welcomed each morning and at night when we saw him. Now for the things that bothered us the most. At the Help Desk they seemed put out that they had to assist us, wither it was making our dinner reservations or just asking them a question. Next at the Bayside restaurant the manager was very abrupt and unpleasant both nights we checked in to eat there. Servers for the most part were good but several mornings the one we had seemed very disinterested in assisting with additional coffee and water. Also, I know the weather can't be controlled, so we were only able to go over to the island one time during our week. It would be nice if there was an alternate pool or beach area to be at when the island is closed due to weather. Something similar to Couples Sansouci Resort. All in all, we had a good trip just not a great one. This is our first trip to Couple Tower Isle, but we have been to Jamaica over fifteen times and I would say this is one of our least favorite resorts to date.

Mixed bag but overall a pleasant trip

My husband and I went to Couples Tower Isle on our honeymoon over this past Christmas. While there were some less than ideal things, overall it was a great experience and we're glad to have stayed there.Pros: Incredibly quiet, most people are turned in by ~10pm every night (obvious exceptions for events) so we were able to relax and not have the noise of partying or kids. Food at the high-end restaurant was incredible and the others were notably delicious as well. Buffet was standard all-inclusive fare with some local specialties. The staff were INCREDIBLY delightful and helpful, I can't say enough good things about everyone. Best massage I've ever had at the spa, however we made the mistake of not asking for pricing and paid a heart-stopping amount, especially after the upsell from 60 minutes to 90 (again, best massage ever so the upsell wasn't exactly difficult). Spa in general was fantastic, bonus points for the local cats roaming around. Rooms were cleaned 3 times a day and were typically spotless.Cons: The resort and rooms are incredibly dated, but not necessarily in a bad way, it is something to keep in mind though. Think mid 90s-2000s. While the rest of the room was spotless, there was some mold under the bathroom counter. I pointed this out to the front desk who was absolutely horrified to hear it, she checked back in with me twice to ensure it had been dealt with but no one ever showed up and it remained there the rest of our stay. I mostly just gave up and didn't want to bother anyone any further. The water around the water sports/dock area needed a good drag to get the garbage out, but the beach area water was always clean. The big con that I hesitate to bring up is a bit personal. The natural private island was something I was excited to spend several days at, and while I'm comfortable topless I did opt to keep my bottoms on due to quite bad surgical scarring - the big differentiating factor here is that I have had a full double mastectomy complete with scars that are also near identical to gender confirmation top surgery scars. It's worth noting that the natural part of the island was advertised as optional, however I was approached by a staff member to let me know that I had to remove my bottoms to comply with the island's rules, as well as that I was making other patrons uncomfortable and there had been a complaint made to the manager. Whether the complaint that was made about me was solely about me wearing bikini bottoms (super weird) or because my scarring was the source (more likely obviously, but makes the patron in question a massive jerk regardless of what the source of the scars are). My husband was absolutely furious that any employee, especially a manager would act on a complaint like that. I spent the rest of the day crying in my room and it left a dark cloud over the rest of our honeymoon.
