I rarely write reviews. I hesitate to write this one because then the word will get out how special the Jamaica Inn is and then it will be hard to get a reservation the next time we go. My husband, 16 year old and I went for Spring Break. We were not prepared for how relaxing and beautiful this place is! When we arrived we were greeted and offered a rum punch or smoothie as Kingsley walked us around the property. Kinglsey is a GREAT first face for the Inn! He was also gracious when we locked ourselves out of our room! The photos don't do this place justice. Spectacular beach! Our room was spacious and well appointed but the verandah is what makes ALL of the rooms and the experience at Jamaica Inn! They are more like outdoor living spaces...complete with couches, chairs, reading lights and a table. Suffice it to say that we did A LOT of outdoor living there as did most of the other guests. It was really great to be able order food (which was very good) to eat there when we felt like just hanging out. I am a planner and usually like to have all outings scheduled ahead of time but didn't do that this time. The Inn was great about arranging whatever you would like to do and it was often less expensive than if we reserved through other vendors. Kevin became our trusted driver and took us into town, to the Blue Hole and to the airport. He is a great driver and very knowledgeable about all things Ocho Rios. It was also fun to stay on the property and enjoy kayaking and snorkeling as well as just relaxing under a cabana. Albert was great about outfitting us for all things beach! The hands on presence of the Morrow family is very evident from the great people they hire (most whom have been there for years) to checking in to see if your visit is going well. They have a number of really fun activities if you want to participate: Croquet and Rose, Shaken, not stirred 007 movie night on the beach, a cooking class (with a visit to a local market) a rum tasting and more. Shadow, the sweetest black lab, MADE the trip for my daughter! She is a sweet and friendly presence at the Inn. Shadow even went paddle boarding with my daughter! Nicola was so great about keeping our room clean and her personality is pure Jamaican friendliness. We looked forward to seeing Patrice (another gem of an employee) at tea time and cocktail time every day as well as Granville as our server at dinner. Colton was our server at breakfast and was always welcoming. I do want to say how touched I was to see Colton sit down with an elderly guest who was there alone (had lost her partner) and just spend time with her. So touching and speaks to how the staff really care about the guests. One couple had been coming for 33 years! My daughter already wants to book Spring Break next year at the Jamaica Inn

Spring at the Inn
12 Apr 2026
Just had a fabulous time at Jamaica Inn. Old school, but in a great way. Amazing location, but it’s the staff that make it special. Particular shout out to the beach bar crew of Richard, Ash & Patrick - they already feel like old friends. But all the staff were great and their motto of welcome home (sounds cheesy, but is for real), made me fee, umm, at home.

Timeless Gem in Ocho Rios, Jamaica
12 Apr 2026
A truly special, family-owned boutique experience in charming Ocho Rios, unlike anywhere we’ve stayed. With only about 150–160 guests (at full capacity) and just as many staff, the service is incredibly personal. They know you by name, no TVs and constantly signing for everything. It allows you to fully unplug and relax. The beach is beautiful, but what stood out most is how completely we were able to decompress, something we haven’t felt on a vacation in years. There’s a natural rhythm to the days: croquet, reading, afternoon tea, games, and an unforgettable spa experience (massage over the ocean with the sound of waves was pure relaxation). We also loved the sense of community and it’s extraordinary how many guests we met who have been coming back for years, and now we completely understand why.A special thank you to Ash and Patrick, who took such great care of us and made the trip extra memorable and special. We will absolutely be back and hope to make this a yearly tradition. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience!

We felt welcomed and at home from the moment we arrived at Jamaica Inn. The Morrow family, their sweet lab Shadow, and the entire team made the experience feel warm, personal, and genuinely special. Jerry was kind enough to show us some of the cottages (for our return trip.) Marvin took wonderful care of us on the beach each day, Sheryl kept our room super clean and her laugh is the best! Jevon “Patrick” made the Rumology experience both fun and informative. The food was fantastic, with a menu that changed nightly based on the chef’s fresh market finds that day, which made every dinner feel unique. We happened to have an unusual stretch of cloudy weather, but our veranda was so peaceful and relaxing that we truly didn’t mind.We were fortunate enough to witness a turtle hatching, a truly magical experience! We also loved the live local music each evening. It added so much charm and atmosphere without ever feeling loud or overdone like at some of the larger resorts. Jamaica Inn was elegant, intimate, and incredibly welcoming — we highly recommend it and are already looking forward to our next visit!

An Inn run with care, love, and attention to every detail!
02 Apr 2026
My daughter and I just returned from a girls' trip to celebrate her Sweet 16 at the Jamaica Inn. She did not want to leave! I now understand why so many guests choose to return to the Inn year after year. Everything about this hotel is special... the staff is seriously the kindest and most helpful staff I've encountered (countless staff members have worked at the Inn for many years- they said it's like their family), the beach and views are postcard perfect, the food and drinks are delicious, the sunsets breathtaking, and the rooms are both well-appointed and comfortable. Each night, we drifted to sleep with the sound of the ocean gently lulling us to slumber. Shadow, the owners' loving Black Lab, is a joyful regular on the property. The Inn's timeless traditions (daily tea at 4 p.m., nightly live music, and the manager's cocktail hour are not to be missed). We even met one of the owners, Eric, at both check-in and check-out. It's clear that much love, attention, and care go into the management of this family-owned Inn. Thank you to everyone who made our trip so amazing... my daughter and I cannot wait to return!!
