We stayed here in a triple room for one night at the start of our trip and one night at the end. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and we had no communication issues. We were able to leave our luggage prior to check in which was very useful. The location is easy to find and conveniently close to the train station. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom and the beds were comfortable (firm but we like that) and the pillows were westerner friendly. The service was just the kind we like, helpful when you ask for help but leave you in peace the rest of the time. The machine for issuing room cards and for automatic checkout was great but staff were also on hand to help you when you get stuck.

The rooms let this place down

I wish I had spent more time researching hotels close to the Nagoya station, had I done so I probably wouldn't have picked this one. Lets start with the bad: The rooms looked bigger in the pictures, and in reality were extremely dark due to the small (non-opening) windows, and the fact that our rooms were shaded by surrounding buildings. The whole hotel has a dank and musty smell to it, especially prevalent in the guest rooms, worse in the bathroom. The carpets are worn and felt dirty. We had booked a double room - and it was tiny. With our suitcases and two children there was barely any space to turn around. Bathroom was super small as well. The cleanliness wasn't the best compared to other Japanese hotels I've stayed in, especially when we moved the beds together there was some trash under the bed. There is a worn sofa in the rooms with incredibly sharp edges that are almost the same height as the cushion; very easy to sit on by mistake and hurt your behind as two of my party did. There was only one pillow supplied initially per bed, but the staff were happy to provide an extra one when requested. The kettle was not ideal; there was no way to make it boil if it already contained water, it would go into "warming" mode. Furthermore it was extremely slow. Last but not least: this hotel was expensive. Location was good, but it wasn't worth what we paid for it in my opinion. Now onto the good, the redeeming factors: the staff were excellent. Especially the girl on check-in. The breakfast was not included in our rate, but is reasonably priced at 1200yen per adult and actually was a fairly decent buffet (aside from the coffee which was weak). Again the staff were friendly and helpful here. There is a large selection of amenities in the lobby. I mentioned the location is only a stone throw from Nagoya station and close to the Shinkansen tracks. The rooms had a decent desk which was appreciated as I had some computer work I needed to do. The hotel allowed us to have a late checkout for 1000yen per hour, which is very reasonable. All in all, this was unfortunately average-below average and I probably would not stay here again unless it was cheap and I was traveling solo.

Good location but extremely small bathroom

Location is great across from Nagoya station, staff are nice and overall room is standard Daiwa chain style. However, the bathroom is extremely small and there is no bench space to place any toiletries aside from on top of the toilet. Breakfast is mediocre and they start clearing the food on the dot.

The room i booked was really small! Difficult to move around with luggage. Check in must only be 3pm. No earlier or have to pay extra. Close to station but we took a long time to find!
