after delaying flight for 4-5 hours,My family finally arrived this hotel after 9pm and check in.There are 2 adults and 2 kids including in this booking.However, we found that there are only 2 pillows in the room. It’s ridiculous!!!I called front desk but the staff replied me there is no more pillows for my family. I’m really so shocked. Finally, a staff gave me 2 small pillows.Please have a looks of the attached photos, I opened and checked. It’s not pillow. He just put towels inside the pillow case ONLY!!!Daiwa Roynet is very famous brand of hotel in Japan. I can’t believe I’m suffering from this ridiculous experience………..It’s a nightmare of my first night stay……There are still many days to stay……I’m very angry and disappointed at the moment that caused me can’t sleep until midnight and the main reason is how can a person sleep without a pillow?!?!It’s too ridiculous!

Stayed a total of 6 nights at this wonderful hotel, with a gap of 4 days in between 2 separate stays of 2 and 4 nights respectively. The hotel staff readily helped to store our big luggage on our first check-out and till our next check-in 4 days later, so that we could travel light to do our Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. The hotel is located near to Nagoya JR Station, less than 5 min walk from Taiko-dori Side exit. Use the exits on street level, do not use the underground exit E1 as recommended by Google map, it’s a long flight of stairs hence inconvenient if you are carrying big and heavy luggage, we learnt it through the hard way.Booked Non-smoking Moderate Twin Room for our 2 stays and the room was of good side, in fact spacious by Japanese standard. We were pleasantly surprised that we were given an upgrade to Deluxe Twin Room that came with a massage chair on our first stay. Checking-in at the counter was a breeze, the Front Office staffs were courteous and could speak good English. Payment and getting our room key cards were done by self service kiosk. Checking-out and returning of key cards were also done via the self service kiosk. Room was very clean and we requested for daily housekeeping. Guests could also request for change of towels without housekeeping by placing the used towels outside the door. There were a total of 5 coin-operated washers with built in dryer spread over on level 6, 10 and 13. We found the status of the washers being shown on TV information channel very useful. We could monitor when and which washers were available for use and when to collect our laundry. The air conditioning was strong. The shower was of good water pressure. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were too soft to our liking.Being near to the 3 train stations (JR, Meitetsu and Kintetsu) meaning there was abundance of restaurants, cafes and shops in the vicinity. There was a convenience store just right on the ground floor of the hotel, and a few others locating round the corner or across the road. The hotel was also near to few assembly points of day tours to Takayama and Shirakawago. Though near to train stations, the hotel itself was quiet and not too crowded. A very pleasant stay overall and would not hesitate to stay with Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nagoya Taiko Dori Side again should we visit Nagoya in future.

Coming from Chubu airport, you will alight at Meitetsu station. I got lost looking for the Taiko-dori exit. Look for the JR train station, which will bring you closer to the Taiko-dori exit. The hotel is a short walk from the JR Taiko-dori exit but about 10-15 mins from Meitetsu Nagoya airport. Take note of the difference.

The staff were great; they assisted me with communication in Japanese to the last hotel that I stayed in but left an item behind. They have been very helpful. Thank you. The hotel doesn’t have an on-site Onsen. The television has non-Japanese language channels which is very helpful. The location is just a 5mins walk to the Nagoya Station; easy walking with luggage and direct train to Nagoya airport. Takashimaya shopping mall is walking distance and there’s lots of eatery and restaurants around.

Good size rooms with great bathroom inc wet room type shower, plus separate bath. Friendly and accommodating staff. Vietnamese restaurant and 7/11 store on the ground floor. Small, but adequate lounge area coupled with reception. Only a few minutes walk from main Nagoya station. Plenty of good local cafes and restaurants within 10 minutes walk. There are a number of Daiwa Roynet hotels in Nagoya, so make sure you arrive at the right one!
