    Tiny rooms

    rating10 Nov 2025

Wasn't too impressed with this hotel. The room was tiny and we couldn't figure out how to work the A/C.Also, when we checked in the counter person didn't even speak to us. I guess they just want you to check in via the computer in the front, which we did, but it still felt very impersonal, especially for Japan.About the only really positive things I can say about the hotel is the Onsen is nice and it is super close to the train station, (right across the street).

Convenient for Airport Bus; Good Onsen with Various Complimentary Stuffs

    rating24 Jun 2025

Very convenient if taking Airport bus to/from airport. My kids and I stayed there for 4 nights, which turned out to be a very fun and enjoyable stay. Onsen was good, then followed by free ice cream and drinks. Later at night, we came down again for free half-sized ramen provided. Breakfast was great and worth the money with many famous local dishes though I did not have breakfast every morning. My room was adequate in size and space. Amenities were good with our favorite Pola body soap and shampoo. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were easy and fast. The only complaint my kids had was that it was a bit of walk to reach a subway station either Fushimi or Sakae station, but that’s not a big deal for me.

    Convenient location and delicious breakfast!

    rating22 Sept 2024

This inn was perfect for easy access to all of the sights in Nagoya. Two train stations are nearby and it is walking distance to many attractions such as Mirai Tower. We booked a Double room and it was relatively small but very clean and comfortable. Appreciated the self-service laundry room. Would be helpful to have the instructions in English/other languages. Free ice cream is offered outside of the baths and those bars are delicious! Did not take advantage of the free ramen in the evening but that is a thoughtful touch. Their buffet breakfast was excellent - an extensive range of higher end proteins and huge variety of pickles as well as numerous traditional breakfast items. Overall we found this place to be a good value.

A port in the storm, with amazing facilities.

    rating11 Sept 2024

We were supposed to stay in Nagoya only for 2 nights but ended up staying for 5, courtesy of Typhoon 10, which not only caused all our plans at Suzuka race track to be cancelled but also for the shinkansen to Tokyo to be suspended. The Dormy Inn provided a home from home for the 5 nights, a reassuring building when we were worried about facing our first typhoon (it never came to that). The hotel is very easy to reach, located between Fushimi and Sakae stations (1-2 stops from Nagoya station). about 5 mins walk from each.Reception staff was amazing, especially Miss Yuri Kobayashi, all of them were courteous, knowledgeable and super stars. The room was fairly spacious, the bed was big and comfortable, slightly hard pillows and only one each but it's the norm in Japan. No foreign language channels on tv, Japanese only, but we translated the news with our phone app.Pay-per-view films available with cards from vending machines near the lift.Amazing breakfast, with items ranging from local delicacies (hitsumabushi, miso cutlets, tempura prawns...) to sweet items such as croissants, pain au chocolat but also mango pudding and mochis. 24/7 complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks.Free onsen access (two different hot baths, sauna and cold bath) with tattoo coverings available from reception.Free ramen available every night from 2130 to 2300.Free ice lollies.Manga library (Japanese only). All in all, it was an amazing stay, even during intense weather events. Thankfully we were "in the eye of the storm" and the weather was atrocious West and East of us but we had bright sunshine with only a few scattered showers.Definitely my favourite hotel chain in Japan, will come back for sure!

    Good value modern budget hotel

    rating18 Aug 2023

Good value budget hotel at convenient location. Room was neat & tidy. Good breakfast & late night light meal offering. Toilet/shower room was surprisingly big. Public bath facilities also available. English speaking staff available. Luggage weight measuring facility available at lobby to ensure luggages not exceeding weight limit by airlines.
