This hotel was the perfect start to our Japan winter trip. It felt like a grand start, especially since Nagoya had magical snowfall the night we arrived. The rooms, while a bit small, were extremely cozy and perfect for 2 people. We were put on the 20th floor with an amazing view of the city, which was even more noticeable when we woke up to even more snow. Absolutely loved that it is connected to the Midland Square mall via an elevator, which can take you straight to Nagoya Station in just a couple of minutes. I would definitely consider this hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone!

Great modern clean hotel right in the city centre
21 Jan 2026
This was in a great location, with a 5 minute walk from Nagoya Station and many restaurants nearby. It seemed very popular with both Japanese and foreign guests. You can access it from the station entirely underground, but the route is a bit confusing. The onsen was a highlight - clean and relaxing. Rooms were quiet, comfortable, and well maintained - the staff were also extremely friendly and welcoming. If you can, try to get a room with a view that doesn’t face the large extractor fan - the views from the higher floors are excellent and are worth it. My only gripe was that there were only 2 washing machines which were always in use - they could do with some more :)

Great base for Nagoya.
27 Oct 2025
A very nice hotel with great features. The rooms were slightly bigger than I expected. Great beds, nice linen, and a very nice deep bathtub. It was nice for an end of day private hot soak. A nice public bath, too. Breakfast was good, with a very nice selection. I loved the salmon set.Location is very convenient to Nagoya Station. The underground labyrinth you expecting big Japanese cities was full of great shops and restaurants. Expect to take time to acquaint yourself with landmarks as it can be confusing. I loved Nagoya City, and loved my base here.

Dependably High End Hotel Near Nagoya Station
20 Jul 2025
Mitsui Garden is our hotel of choice in Japan, and in just the past 2-1/2 years, we've had top-notch Mitsui Garden experiences in Sapporo, Sendai, Osaka, Hiroshima, and three different locations in Tokyo. Hey, if it ain't broke... Well, of course, we stayed here. It had an ideal downtown location just a five-minute walk to Nagoya Station. We had booked two nights in a Superior King Room for $220 per night, a reasonably priced high-end accommodation. Just as stylishly modern as the others in the chain, the lobby was sleek with panoramic views of the immediate city skyline. Keep in mind that Nagoya is the 4th largest city in Japan, so it felt pretty cosmopolitan. The front desk staff was cordial and comfortably fluent in English. Our room was pretty spacious at 248 square feet, enough to accommodate not only a king bed but also a chaise lounge and a pretty large bathroom with plenty of amenities. I have to admit our stay in Nagoya was so quick we didn't take advantage of the Sky Bar restaurant, but we did take a late soak in the large onsen which was immaculately maintained. We would definitely stay here again when we need a Nagoya fix.

Another enjoyable stay!
25 Jun 2025
I've stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Nagoya Premier four times now and always enjoy the views, the location, the comfort, the amenities and the food. This time I booked a superior king room rather than a queen. It had a wide view across the city to the mountains. A staff member had advised that having a king room meant I would not really be able to see the castle, a love of mine, but I was given a room where I could still see it in the far distance which was great. The room was still fairly compact but well-designed, so the space overall was ok. I was able to fit my wheeled suitcase in as well as the big backpack, without their impeding movement. The bed was comfortable, as was the lounge with its pretty cushion. The lounge along with its small table had to double as a desk though, which wasn't ideal. There were PJs and slippers for use within the hotel. These rooms have very nice lit cabinets for the attractive crockery, glassware and ice bucket. Metal cutlery in a drawer below. And it's always a bonus to have a capsule coffee machine! Also there was an electric jug, with teabags and coffee capsules provided. The fridge and tv were both a good size. There was adequate clothes hanging space but no drawers for clothes. The room also contained a small safe and a humidifier. I found the WiFi could be slow. The bathroom was good with lots of bench space and a deep, long bath. Quality complimentary facial products was another bonus. The staff were helpful and nice. The hotel lobby always looks great. There's extensive shelving displaying flowers, objets d'art and books; cool decor including an impressive ceiling artwork; and a panoramic view. The large floral installations on that floor were superb, and downstairs by the lift there were more flowers beside green shachihoko. Breakfasts feature local specialities and are very good. I much enjoyed the eel dish. The hotel is in an excellent location, less than 10 minutes walk to the JR and Meitetsu Stations, close to the Midland Shopping Centre and heaps of other shops as well as many eateries. It's about a 30 minute walk to Nagoya Castle or the Sakae District. Less to various museums and parks, or it's easy to take a train. And thank you very much for the lovely special gift of a Nagoya castle paper clip for staying more than a certain number of nights!
