Good location to stay for shopping

    rating22 Sept 2026

This hotel is celebrating the 50th anniversary this month and the room shows. Although the room size is a bit small and decoration is a bit dated, the location close to the train station and many department stores easily made up. There are many restaurants to choose from and some of them are within 5 minutes walking distance. We spent 2 days just shopping for various things and wife was very pleased. The room is clean and the staff were very courteous. Overall, this is a good place to stay if your are a tourist and don’t plan to stay in the hotel room most of the time.

Below average hotel experience with Crowne Plaza Fukuoka

    rating28 Aug 2026

Centrally located hotel near Hakata Station so very convenient. It is rated as a 4+ star hotel but with older facilities, even though some renovations were probably done some years ago yet the hotel still show its age (the lesson is do not get fooled by the pictures on the website). I booked a premium room which came with adequate space, however, the furnitures and possibly carpet too in the room triggered a serious allergy on me and I ended up feeling miserable with non-stop sneezing and itchy red eyes during the entire stay. Even with air purifier it still did not help and this made the experience totally uncomfortable: I was totally ok before and after this hotel..... Another major issue is that Crowne Plaza indicated in my booking that "lounge access" is included, however upon arrival, I was told lounge access was excluded even I was a premier member and it will cost me extra if I want the option, despite I showed the proof of my reservation record printout. This really felt like "cheating" and "false advertisement". I ended up paying for two-day passes out of my three day stay. Not very happy about that conversation, not to mention the lounge is really that great either.Overall, the experience at this Crowne Plaza is below expectation. The price was high considered the cost of other hotels in the same area and what you received simply doesn't justify the money you paid. I shall not return to this hotel in the future. Average hotel saved only by the service and location

    rating28 Jul 2026

Honestly this is not one of my best stays in Japan. As a Diamond member I was not upgraded because my 6 night stay was too long but that's alright. Upgrades are based on availability and not guaranteed, and the hotel offered 5,000 points in compensation. But the room they gave us seemed to be the smallest one they had. It was the size of a shoe closet and barely enough for two people. The bed was pushed up against the wall, which made it feel less like a hotel room and more like a college room. Furniture and decor was also feeling very tired. It was just very disappointing to be put in such a cramped and old room. The pillow was also way too soft and very uncomfortable.Perhaps the only saving grace for this hotel is the service, which was exceptional all across the board, and the location. It's within walking distance to Hakata station and there is a bus stop right in front that takes you to Tenjin and other parts of the city. The breakfast buffet spread was small but it had a fairly extensive Japanese food section with many local delicacies. Great Location in Hakata

    rating02 May 2026

ANA Crowne Plaza Fukuoka is only a few mins walk to Hakata station, making it an ideal place to stay in Fukuoka. The size of the room is considerable bigger than its counterpart I stayed (e.g. ANA Crowne Plaza Sapporo). I used the laundry service, which was very efficient and satisfactory. The staff was very helpful in check in and check out. I was given an earlier check-in before 3pm, and the staff helped me to hail a taxi to airport after checking-out.Overall a great stay in Fukuoka.

Great location though room a bit dated

    rating01 Apr 2026

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on our first visit to Fukuoka. The major selling point of this hotel is its location which is located about 5 minutes walk from Hakata station. Hakata station is a major transit point whereby the JR trains and Shinkansen stops. Not forgetting too the subway stop for 2 of the city's subway lines. To get to the hotel, look for the exit 24 West which will lead you to the junction and after crossing it, the hotel is right in front. If you are arriving at the international terminal, take the free bus to the domestic terminal which is about 5 minutes ride. Then get onboard the subway which is the Airport line and in 5 minutes you arrive at Hakata station. Many places of interest are located within walking distance from the hotel like Canal city, Tenjin, Kushida shrine, Kawabata shopping arcade etc. The subway lines from Hakata also takes you to most of the attractions in Fukuoka like the Fukuoka castle, Ohori park, Nishi park, Hakata port tower etc. Food is not an issue as you can easily find restaurants, cafes, bakeries and the ever popular convience stores in the vicinity.Staff are friendly and greet you whenever they meet you. The only issue is that the furniture could do with a bit of upgrade. Otherwise, we are rather okay with the room and facilities provided.Overall a good hotel to stay in considering the rate we paid. Will stay again if we do come by Fukuoka.
