    Comfort by name and nature!

    rating08 Dec 2025

The Comfort Hotel Hakata is centrally located and convenient to Hakata Station. We were warmly greeted by staff on check-in and each time we came and went from the hotel. There are many small gestures that meant a lot for a large family group traveling with a young child, including: free breakfast (with child friendly plates & cutlery), a comfortable dining/library area that could be freely used by guests along with free beverages, on-site laundry, ice makers, microwave & complimentary baggage storage. Rooms were clean and comfortable with all the essentials (plus a few extras). Rooms were also well sound proofed, so proximity to the station and city were never an issue for sleeping. Also convenient were a 7/11 and Starbucks right next door.

    Old but convenient

    rating12 Apr 2025

The hotel is pretty old, carpet kind of dingy, the bathroom utilities are definitely old. But the location is hard to beat and the breakfast staff work tirelessly. Relatively spacious for a Japanese hotel room. Used the laundry facilities and soap was provided via the machine.

Appalling service and dated, despite central location

    rating08 Jan 2025

Was sent to this hotel for one night due to a flight delay. All staff I met had limited English skill, therefore, they relied on a translation machine. The rooms we got were typical tiny Japanese hotel rooms, which were understandable given its central location. The hotel interior, esp the bathrooms, was in need of renovation.During my check-in, I asked whether local phone calls are free of charge. The staff said yes and I also confirmed by showing him the local airline phone number which I was calling. When I checked out on the next morning, the staff (a lady) told me to pay for the phone call. I explained it was confirmed by a colleague of her the night before. She repeated the 2 sentences "You must pay." and "I didn't say that (free of charge local calls)." multiple times with the translation machine. Nothing else was said and she didn't attempt to check with any of her colleagues. I had to pay as we needed to catch the morning flight. What a terrible experience.Despite its convenient location, there were many rooms available for the urgent needs of the airlines. That's probably explained by the appalling service and decor.

    Excellent base to explore Fukuoka

    rating19 Nov 2024

Located within a few minutes walk from the Hakata Station, the hotel provides an excellent base for travelers exploring Fukuoka and its neighborhood. Rooms are small with basic facilities but generally clean; good for a night's sleep. The room tariff includes breakfast, which was in the form of buffet with mainly Japanese food. Good to fill up the stomach before a busy day. As with other hotels in Japan, the staff members speak pretty basic English.
