  We went to Fukuoka for a Sumo tournament. This hotel was right across the street from the venue. Rooms were nice and roomy and great amenities. The gentlemen at the front desk was EXTREMELY helpful. (I could kick myself because I forgot to get his name). He had given us recommendations for a ramen place and it was the BEST!!

  My family and I had a wonderful stay at Hakata Place. We were there for five nights for the World Masters Swimming and couldn’t have picked a more convenient and lovely hotel. The rooms were spotless and had everything we needed, including the wonderful surprise of a washing machine. The breakfasts were plentiful and had a good amount of variety. Every one of the staff was friendly, and the front desk was super helpful giving guidance and recommendations when needed. It’s not in the center part of town but we found plenty of good restaurants around and it was a short and pretty 15 minute walk to Old Hakata. Bayside Place just across from the hotel and near the water also has some good restaurants, an amazing coffee shop, and a spa where we had the best massages. All in all, an excellent stay - thank you!

  Convenient place close to ferry termina/sumo basho

  I chose this place as I was coming from Busan by boat and attending sumo tournament the same day, and the location proved to be very handy.Staff was nice and provided plenty of information when asked. The place itself is nothing short of a business hotel although the price was much lower than average.The room was pretty large and I even had an actual bath (albeit not large) in the bathroom. The breakfast looked gorgeous on pictures but when next morning came it was just an okay buffet with a small main dish.The only actual downside is that it's far from the other main attractions and buses in Fukuoka were pretty expensive.I think I'd like to return there the next time I come by ferry as the value for money is huge and the location so convenient in that regard.

  An apartment-like hotel in bayside Hakata

  I stayed in the hotel to attend an event at nearby convention centre. This hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, the room is considered quite spacious - apparently refurbished from an apartment complex, with separate good size bath and toilet, also wardrobe space and a small kitchenette that you wouldn't find in a typical business hotel in Japan. The staff are friendly and helpful, and breakfast is simple and filling (half buffet with choice of 2 main dish). I was pleasantly surprised to discover the bayside place nearby that has an interesting supermarket (with eating places) and some shopping, a few restaurants, and a nice hot spring place. Bayside area is also a ferry pier to go to nearby cities like Busan in S Korea. Transport wise, this hotel is actually not far from city centres like Tenjin and Hakata, but it can be difficult to take a bus for a tourist. The nearest subway station, though, is 15 minutes walk away (Gofukumachi station). If the weather is good, one can also take a 30 min or so walk to Hakata station area (2.5 km away).

  First of all, we have definitely enjoyed our stay at Hotel Hakata Place.We booked this hotel because of it's location as my friend and I are going to attend a concert at the Marine Messe Fukuoka. The hotel was close to the venue and would only be only within 7-10 minutes on foot! Great location. Also room was spacious, and they even got a washing machine, electric stove for cooking (we didn't actually use it) and a soft and comfy bed (which we desperately wished for).If you would like to walk to the city center of that area, it was just only around 15 minutes and also a convenience store located right opposite to the hotel too!Staff was helpful and provided great service and English was not a problem there.Anyways, we would definitely be back if we are gonna attend another concert next year at Marine Messe Fukuoka!Thank you for taking care of us!
