  Wonderful stay in Sapporo

  The location is near Susukino Train Station and it's within 2 mins walking distance to No. 7 Tanukikoji Shopping Street from the hotel back entrance. It's a bit of long walk from Sapporo Train Station. The Premium Twim Room is large and comfortable. The hotel is quiet and cosy, which is very good. The public bath is not huge but good enough if not crowded.The staff are polite and helpful. They are able to communication with us using English and able to order a taxi for us.We have an enjoyable breakfast here.

  Good location hotel with bad staff

  The hotel location was alright, room was decent with same level laundromat available which is convenient.However downside of the hotel is the staff, firstly we arrived around 11am plus which we know the check in is 3pm.When we arrived, I thought it will be like normal hotel, finished up the check in process and retrieve the key card later. The receptionist was a young lady which is not fluent with English, which was fine. She asked me for passports and she checked, and she told me only after 3pm then the room will be ready, and I would need self service to store my luggage at the storage room. Ok, so I thought it was done and we proceed to store the luggage and went out. At 3pm, we went back to the reception and were asked for passports again. Ok so now then they proceed for the check in. It was the lady again and it was very obvious she was not very confident to speak with us, beside her I don’t know if it was her senior or management, so he encouraged her to try. I tried to listen to her but it was ready hard to catch as she kept speaking to us in Japanese English. So the senior waited for her to finish up the explanation, then he step in again to explain to us with proper English. As the hotel was doing annual inspections, one of the night will be off electricity which we were notified before hand via email. So we were placed over to the annex building instead of main building. I asked the lady, how to go to annex building, she replied, go out turn left, and I repeated, so go out main door and turn left? She said yes. Do note at this time, the reception has 5-6 staff and only me with my partner and another couple for check in.We are handling 2 large luggage, 1 medium luggage and 1 cabin luggage. And we are carrying things. So we dragged our luggage walked past right in front of the reception and go through the main door to move to the next annex building, carry the luggage up the stairs and to the lift.That’s when we realized, right beside the reception, THERE WAS A SHORTCUT RIGHT TO THE ANNEX BUILDING!!! What a horrible service, none of the staff took the courtesy to inform us when they saw we dragging the luggage down the lane and out the main door. It was so obvious we are going to the room as we just took the room key. 5-6 of the staff, standing there looking, is it a joke to you all??I felt so disgusted by this, holiday inn is an internationalt hotel franchise and this was the treatment they gave to guest. I will not stay here again.   The Location is fantastic. You can walk to all the important sites.The rooms could not be smaller, and I was solo. At least the bed and sheets were cozy and comfortableBreakfast had a good variety. I recommend the onsen experience which I enjoyed.   We had a lovely stay at Holiday Inn Sapporo Odori Park. The room was cosy and comfortable, and the toilet was exceptionally clean — something my family really appreciates when travelling. The only small downside was the limited bottled water provided, but it wasn’t a major issue.A very special shout-out to Khaing, who made our stay truly memorable. From the moment we communicated via telephone pre arrival and until the day we checked out, she was incredibly helpful and thoughtful. As first-time travellers to Sapporo, her tips and insights were invaluable and made our trip so much smoother.We also truly appreciated the room upgrade offered for my Platinum Ambassador status — it was a wonderful gesture that added to our overall experience.Thank you to the team for a great stay.   Great hotel for families. Onsen clean and relaxing. Massage chairs, tv and popsicles. Helpful staff! Clean and spacious rooms (for Sapporo). Good location. Water and towels provided daily.
