    Wonderful stay

    rating13 May 2026

Very awesome view of the harborland. Enjoyed the balcony so much that I spend most of my time people watching. The room is very quiet. Could not hear any noise , slept peacefully. Room is good enough for me and my adult daughter sharing a bed. Considering Japan normally has small rooms. And not to mention my 3 huge luggages.Lobby area is wonderful. Good selection of restaurants.

High-level Professionalism: Special thanks to Mr. Shin Komura

    rating11 May 2026

Our stay was truly wonderful, largely due to the outstanding hospitality of Mr. Shin Komura.I lost an ABC-MART bag in Motomachi Shopping Street. Even though it was outside his duties, Mr. Komura sincerely helped me contact the local police. I was especially moved when he gave me his business card and said, "Please contact me even after you return home, and I will check for updates for you." This "Guest First" spirit was truly touching. Fortunately, I later found the bag kept safely by the staff at Fugetsu-do.I also want to praise the female staff members at the front desk; their warm, healing smiles made us feel so welcome. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for making our trip so memorable! May there be world peace and lasting friendship.

Avoid this hotel, grumpy staff and really dirty.

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at, alarm bells should have rang when we pulled up, there were no porters just trolleys for you to use yourself. There were no early check in rooms so we left our luggage in a very good luggage room, with lockers and locks for large cases. We saw straight away the carpets and soft furnishings were filthy, stained and very old, and the staff were extremely grumpy. Our room was small, one side of the bed was pushed up against the wall, so you had to crawl in to get into bed, the wallpaper torn, the carpets thread bare and stained and dust and dirt under the furniture, the towels were thin and old. They have eco cleaning, if you wanted more you had to pay, by the state of the room how about no cleaning at all, we only got one coffee and the cups were left dirty the three nights we were there. There were private functions at the hotel on our second night, so there was not a bar or restaurant we could use, reception offered us for 4000 yen pp approx £20 to go into the executive lounge, so we did, the food had stopped as we walked in, but there were some nuts, so we had some drinks, we clearly peeded a lady member of staff off, as at 2155 she came over to my husband and grabbed his drink from his hand and said we are closed, perhaps we had to many drinks, but have never been anywhere where you were limited to just a couple. The breakfast wasn’t great, cheap food, ice cream and donuts, we chose burgers as they were cooked fresh, we sat under a grill in the ceiling which was full of dust. We did go to the bar for a drink one lunchtime, as our friend’s were leaving, and tried to get some food, a very limited choice but we chose a pizza, it was small cheap rubbish. This is a great location if you getting on or off a cruise, but in the bay there are two much nicer hotels, use those, they are still in the bay overlooking the sea. Avoid this place like the plague, In my opinion the management must be at fault, as the staff are unhappy and the place is filthy.

An amazing hotel – beyond any expectations!

We arrived at the Kobe Meriken Hotel in the late afternoon, for check-in at 3 p.m. We were starving at this point, as we had walked the streets of Kobe, but were to indecisive to go through with lunch. It turned out the Executive Lounge opened at the same time as check-in, and what an exquisite Lounge it was! We could stay there all the time until it re-opened for dinner. The buffet was plentiful with a huge variety of foods, both cold and warm. Casseroles as well as delightful canapes. Dinner started at 5 pm (you were welcome to stay and finish your food from lunch + your drinks in the interim period, but the buffet was closed for 1 hour). There is a big selection of drinks and wine available as well, all of good quality – both for lunch and dinner. The dinner was yet another treat – with Kobe casseroles and with a chef who served slices of roast beef at your request. This is possibly the most abundant and generous Lounge we’ve ever experienced. And we’ve visited 30 to 40 Executive Lounges in various countries. The room had an excellent view of the port, and even had a balcony! We were a little disappointed that we regrettably were there in January, and therefore only went out to have a glance. Top recommendation – what a treat!

We arrived on the Shinkansen from Hiroshima to Shin Kobe Station . As it was a Weekend we were able to use the Hotels Bus to get to the Hotel. The Bus runs every 20 minutes during the Day on Weekends to & From Shin Kobe Station and Every Day to & from Kobe station .We booked 3 nights for our visit to Kobe . Our Room was a standard Double East View . We were on the 9th Floor . The Room was a big improvement in Size compared to our Room in Hiroshima . It also had a good size Balcony with Views across the Bay and the City . At night there was a Big Laser Light show and many Buildings are illuminated , including the Maritime Museum . The Bed was comfortable and we slept well. The Bathroom was a good size with a Long , deep Bath with a shower over it . The Toilet was a very Modern Electric Bidet style with Heated Seat as well as a lot of other Functions . Breakfast was a Buffet . There was plenty of Seating including outside Tables with views across the Bay . The Hotel is in Meriken Park and is Walking distance to many attractions , Restaurants & Chinatown . There always seemed to be Taxis waiting by the Entrance which was handy when we were leaving .The Hotel has a Convenience store on site , very Cheap compared to Australian Convenience stores .The Hotel has quite a Unique Design , all rooms have Balconies , however it is a bit rundown and needs a Refresh but overall a Good Hotel.
