Booked this hotel as I was visiting a show in Pacifico Yokohama and this was within reasonable walking distance through Landmark Plaza. General location is excellent, within short walking distance from Sakuragicho Station on the JR line, thru the Colette Mall which is connected to the hotel. Also walkable to the Ferris Wheel and Cup Noodles Museum. The Colette Mall has a wide variety of shops and restaurants including a cinema and supermarket in the basement so that adds to the convenience for this hotel. The hotel lobby is on L3, where they also have a restaurant and an amenities rack where you can pick up what you need (hair brush, shower cap, shaver kit etc). The room is rather small for 2 persons with not much space to walk around if you have 2 luggages opened at the same time. Bathroom area is also quite tight but thankfully clean. I guess the size is typical of hotels in Japan. Bed and pillow is ok though I would prefer it firmer. There's a water dispenser on every level near the lifts. I also wished they had brighter lights, the dim orange lights make working on the laptop a little challenging.

Comfortable and and good location

Well positioned near JR Sakuragicho station with a direct connection from level 3 of the department store adjacent to the station, or from street level via a lift to reception on 3rd level. The rooms are quite compact but well designed. We had a room on the landward side (we chose this during the booking process), with a view over endless urban sprawl. We read that Mt Fuji was sometimes visible, but although the weather was fine, the haze meant we couldn’t see that far. The room had a fridge, kettle and good hairdryer, and filtered water was available down the hallway. The benches under the window and above the bedhead were a thoughtful touch.Taxis are hard to get at the ground level entry, so we walked to the nearby rank at the Sakuragichō Station plaza. There’s a 7-Eleven just outside and besides the department store, the Landmark building with its shops and restaurants (and access to the Minatomirai subway station) is connected by walkways. We didn’t eat in the hotel as there are numerous better-value restaurants in the vicinity.

We stayed 3 nights in the New Otani Inn. Hotel just next to Sakuragicho station, 2 minutes walk to the shopping mall and opposite the Landmark building with its shops and restaurants. Right on Yokohama bay. Clean comfy and quiet spacious room. Great breakfast, a lot of selection of foods. Friendly Staffs Only down side is the hotel's lobby too narrow

Fantastic stay at New Otani Inn Yokohama

Fantastic stay at the New Otani Inn Yokohama. The hotel is conveniently located to a grocery store downstairs, and with choices of many restaurants. The train station is steps away along with the bus depot. More importantly, it is very close to the sea ports with a water view and the Yokohama famous Cosmo Clock 21 "Ferris wheel," steps away.4.5 stars

Convenient location; smallish room

We got into the New Otani directly from Haneda, roughly 10,000 taxi ride. Our room was small, but functional; best one can say is that location is steps to the Sakuragicho station and perhaps 10 minute walk to the Minato Mirai malls and restaurants. We did not have a breakfast package but the hotel is connected to a multi-story mall and right outside the 3rd floor entrance is a 7Eleven store where one can get virtually anything. We took a train to Kanazawa and on our return to Yokohama, booked at the Hyatt Regency.
