ONE OF THE BEST IN HAKONE

    rating15 Jun 2026

The location is immaculate The service is commendableThe Front desk is absolutely fabulous and the help and service they provide makes the stay even more great NADAMAN the Japanese is must try , not a set menu person so did not try the others Only thing is the limitations of the area of no availability of dining options nearby but the Free Shuttle to MotoHakone that runs untill 7pm is a great help Though there also you get an Italian & 7-11 which are open untill late and other places close by 5:30 The hotel is so great that if they arrange a good room service with options that cover all tastes one doesn’t need to move out only, 24 hours There is also a bakery and some shops nearby that are there until 6 Overall this is a place you would love to come back to The lakeside is picturesque and you just can’t get up once sitting and relaxing there , can see Mt Fuji very beautifully The ropeway just opp the hotel is as good or sometimes better than the main one Nothing more to be said , it’s a lovely place to say yes to The place takes away the limitations of time Hakone has

    Great stay

    rating06 May 2026

This hotel is beautiful, retro looking, sitting on Lake Ashi as a part of a huge complex that belongs to The Prince Hakone. Rooms are retro, spacious, with comfortable beds and all amenities. Attentive staff that try their best to help you at all times. Japanese etiquette that makes it extra fun. Big shower. Amazing Onsen with all amenities available. beautiful views to Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji. Shuttle that takes you to Motohakone and Odawara shuttle as well [useful for Shinkansen goers like me]. The Onsen was also open to kids, which is amazing for a family.Adding some caveats-The hotel is luxurious and fun, but needs some renovation. Specially the shower. Food was great, but extremely costly, and you have to get it because there is nothing around to eat [only at Motohakone, which is far].

Independent travellers - avoid this hotel.

    rating06 Apr 2026

General: We arrived in early April. The weather on the first day was fine but the second day it was cloudy and rained a lot of the day so if your time is short and you want to see Mt Fuji you may well be disappointed. Also on the second day the weather closed the "Pirate Ship" and ropeways so you may be left with little to do. Hotel: Nice sized room and generally clean but the room was looking old - carpet stained and ripped in places. Also our balcony overlooked the refuse collection area rather than the advertised "lake view".On the first night we eat in the buffet which was expensive and generally of poor quality. On the second night we were told all the restaurants were fully booked (unless we wanted to eat at 5.30pm) and would have order room service. It should be noted that there are no other restaurants within two to three miles of the hotel.Location of Hotel: probably its weakest point. It was isolated and without a car one has to rely on public transportation which only starts at 10.30am and closes at about 6.00pm BUT even within in these times the service is infrequent and erratic (sometimes running only every two hours). Conclusion: if you an independent traveller it is probably best to avoid this hotel.

Beautiful hotel with great lake view and relaxing onsen

    rating28 Oct 2025

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel with a lovely view of the lake. The onsen was very nice — the outdoor part was especially relaxing and much better than the indoor section. The nearby shops were charming, particularly the cake bakery. However, the hotel felt overpriced for what it offered. Also, at reception, we were shown a box of tea and asked to take only one tea bag each, which felt a bit rude and unnecessary.Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel in a great location, but the experience didn’t fully match the price.

Peaceful Lakeside Retreat Near Lake Ashi

    rating12 Jun 2025

This quaint and secluded spot sits right on the shores of Lake Ashi, offering a serene and calming atmosphere. The staff is warm, humble, and very courteous, making the stay even more pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, though the dinner felt slightly overpriced. The location is convenient—close to the Komagatake Ropeway—and perfect for enjoying lake cruises
