    Great hotel with good space and great amenities. The breakfast was really good quality with both Japanese and Western options. The location was across the street from train station and close to everything without being near the noise. We will definitely be visiting here again!

    We spent 4 nights at the Ace Hotel in Kyoto. Rooms were well....roomy, great bed, quiet and I have to say probably the best shower head I have ever experienced in a hotel. The hotel is well located, close to the subway, shopping and tons of restaurants. Front desk staff were attentive and some were very knowledgeable, all very helpful. I would stay here again if in Kyoto.     I would defiantly not recommend this hotel. The odor in the hall and the room was horrible!! The blankets and the sofa in the room were disgusting ! Scratchy thick wool that looked like they were never cleaned. I would not even sit on the sofa.     Honeymoon stay

    We stayed for four nights for part of our honeymoon and loved our time there. The reception staff was incredibly friendly and when we arrived they had already moved our bags up to our room. They left a welcome gift for us in the room to celebrate. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We also had a delicious breakfast each morning served in a very serene atmosphere. The hotel location is great – very easy to walk to several sites while still being in a peaceful and quiet area. And only a short walk to two different subway lines, making it easy to use the subway system. We would definitely return here when travelling to Kyoto again!     Cool vibe for Kyoto base

    We had a great 3-night stay at Ace. Lobby is beautiful architecturally and buzzy. Stumptown Coffee Roasters is usually busy but makes a great brew. We’re way too old for the nightly DJ events but enjoyed seeing them, and we couldn’t hear a peep in our room even though we were on the same floor. Our room was large and well-appointed, including the fun selection of vinyl LPs. (And after we listened to them, we checked out more from the front desk library.) Front desk was always friendly and helpful, including with laundry and shipping a bag onward. Their restaurant Kosa is too small capacity for breakfast, arrive first thing or be prepared to wait in a long line; the good thing is there are many other food options a short walk away. (We liked IMAYA Kyoto & COFFEE.) One nice thing about Ace is that the main entrance is on a quiet side street just off a main thoroughfare, which made it very easy to summon taxis (GO app) and load/unload calmly. Ace was a great base for our time in Kyoto; we would happily stay there again.
