  Amaze Hotel, Amaze Location, Amaze transport links, babes... STAY HERE!

  Hotel Elcient was the best hotel i stayed at during my trip to Japan, the hotel is clean, large and the staff are extremely helpful. We stayed in a twin room in the annex, the twin was large spacious and had all the amenities we needed, there were vending machines on floors here and there as well as in reception, there was a laundry room and Onsen facilities The hotel is large and a stones throw from Kyoto station, there is a 7/11 and a Lawson within a minute of the hotel as well as an Avantii shopping mall. The check in was straight forward as we were part of a tour, the hotel also had a large lounge area as well as a restaurant/breakfast room. The hotel has a manga library by the Onsen facilities and the entrance to the woman area was locked with a code needed for entry, there are 4 washer/dryers that are coin operated. The hotel breakfast was always delicious with a buffet style selection of Japanese dishes as well as a few western dishes with a large selection of breads, fruits and cereals too.Our room was large and spacious, with plenty of space for our 4 cases and extra bags, the bathroom was the larges of all the hotels we'd stayed at in Japan which was amazing because i finally got to have a bath! The staff were really great too, helping us with the luggage forwarding service to send out bags to Osaka. it was easy and very straight forward, all you need to do is scan the Qr code they provide and input your next hotel's details, bring the bags to reception and they will measure and tag them asl well ask take payment, it was just over 7000 yen for us to send 2 large and 1 extra large suitcase to Osaka. The hotel also had great transport links being so close to Kyoto station, busses, shinkansen, and the subway were all within a 5/10 min walk through the station.

  Location of hotel is quite good, near to Kyoto Station, about 5 to 10min walk. Location cannot be compared to Keihan hotel which is even nearer and next to the shopping area. Hotel room is very tiny. Very little space to move about. The double bed is placed against the wall so the person sleeping inside is very difficult to get out of bed. Toilet is much smaller than usual. Bathtub is high and half the length. For tall people,this bathroom is really a problem. Not only that, the bathroom is elevated 10inches high from the floor of the bedroom so you have to step up or down. No space for you to change in the bathroom. Shower caps are not provided

  If you don’t plan to stay long then this hotel would be perfect choice. We’ve stayed one night. Room was clean but very small, we didn’t have any big suitcases but if you have a lot of luggage you won’t be able to open them. Bathroom is microscopical. Downstairs at the lobby hotel offers large selection of self care items and in room you will have Japanese style pajamas which are very comfortable. Breakfast is served from 6:30am, menu is a mix with typical Japanese cuisine and western style food. Overall good experience.

  Our family of 3 stayed at Hotel Elcient Kyoto for 3 nights. I picked this for its location close to Kyoto Station. On this trip to Japan we stayed in 4 different hotels in Japan and they are all of similar (small) size at 20 sq meters (~ 200 Sq ft). For Elcient, the triple room is the same size as a double room, they just squeeze in an extra bed so it feels rather tight. The only space to put your suitcases is between the foot of the bed and the wall; once you do that, there's barely any room to actually walk. The bathroom is postage stamp size and only 1 person can fit at a time.The room provides in-room safe (standard size!), kettle, bottled water, pajamas. It is very quiet and darkening shades work well. When we arrived we were asked to use the self check-in machines, even though there was plenty of staff at the desk who could help us check-in. After scanning all our passports and providing all the info using the kiosks, we then found out we cannot use the kiosk's credit card machine to pay because it requires a PIN (which I don't have). So back to lining up to be checked-in by an actual human. This was annoying because we had been traveling all day and were tired and hungry. That evening we were too tired to venture out so we ate at the hotel restaurant, which was surprisingly good.On our first morning we went down at 7am to pay for breakfast (breakfast starts at 6:30am) but were told it was full and to return around 8am. Not wanting to wait, we went to the 7-11 next door to grab coffee and breakfast. The 2 subsequent mornings we went to breakfast closer to 8am and had no trouble getting seated. The cost is very reasonable and the spread is very nice, with plenty of Western and Japanese options.There is laundry room and and onsen in the hotel. Both are located on the 2nd floor in the annex building (which is where our room is). When we used both facilities around 5pm, no one was using either. The ladies onsen is very clean, with a shampoo and bath bar where you can choose your own products. The laundry room was much busier when we returned later to retrieve our clothes around 7pm. Our room in the annex is quiet and overall a very calm and peaceful environment. During our stay I believe there were school groups staying in the annex as well but they weren't on our floor and we didn't hear any noise.I picked this hotel for its location, proximity to the Kyoto station. It is v convenient for the Shinkansen and the Kintetsu trains, as well as subways. Note that Elcient is located on the South exit of the station; if you need to take buses (eg for Kiyomizu dera), the bus terminal is located on the North side of the station. It takes a good 10 minutes to walk over there.I would recommend this hotel if you are in Kyoto for a short time and need a place central and convenient. However, if you plan to spend more time in Kyoto, I would recommend staying near Gion district where there is a nicer ambience.

  A great hotel, right next to the station- impossible to miss if you come out the main station entrance, which is always nice! Yes the rooms are on the small size, but after a capsule hotel I was thrilled to have my own clean, tidy space and bathroom- that's all you need. Pjs and toiletries are provided, and although I was out a lot, the staff all seemed friendly. A great spot for a stay in Kyoto.
