  Great Stay Overall, but Staff Experience Needs Improvement

  We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel itself is very nice-clean, newly maintained, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The atmosphere felt fresh and well-kept, which made our stay enjoyable.Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, we did have one uncomfortable experience. After checking in with our private guide (who had already provided our passports to another staff member for copying), a staff member came to our room the next morning, knocked persistently, and demanded to see our passports again. His attitude felt unfriendly and a bit aggressive, which made us uncomfortable-especially since our guide was not available at the time. We ended up closing the door as the interaction did not feel professional.Aside from this incident, the rest of our stay was positive. The hotel does not provide breakfast, but there is a 7-Eleven just a short walk away that has plenty of options, including smoothies, which worked out perfectly for us.Overall, this is a very nice hotel with clean, spacious rooms. With some improvement in staff communication and professionalism, the experience would be even better.

  Never again! Choose some better hotel

  If you decided to stay in this hotel be ready to have “a basement style” room. Because, I suppose, most of their windows rest against the wall of the neighboring building. It means no natural light, no sunlight, always only artificial lighting. But they share photos with normal windows everywhere! If we had known that we would be living like in a basement, we would never have chosen this hotel!!!

  The hotel is near Kyoto station (can be reach by walk). The room is simple but have bathtub! If there is no one in the hotel, we can take the phone and talk to the staff by phone in front of the hotel. We can check in and check out easily in the front desk.

  A satisfying stay

  This is my second time staying in M’s related hotel. The location is one of the attractions and the previous stay in other M’s hotel leaves me a good impression. I think it should be a young hotel because of the modern decoration. The management is new to me as well. You can do the check-in by yourself. One thing I questioned was that I needed to pay a deposit. I am not sure if it mentioned when I made the reservation through the agency. Comparing with normal hotel in Japan, it is a spacious one. The air-con is easy to control. I slept with the comfortable temperature. Every morning I want to keep laying in the bed, haha. The room is clean. The hotel rule is that it will have house-keeping every 3days. I don’t know how you can ask for a daily one if needed, but it is fine for me.The window is facing to Kyoto Tower. I seldom staying in a room with any view! Also unlike normal Japan toilet and shower room, there is not a huge step to the toilet. After staying for 3nights, I find there is an opportunity and also a risk. The room lock is using password so I am glad that I don’t need to keep a key card. However,as there is not a staff staying at front desk, the main entrance is also locked with password. Although there is a phone placed calling the staff for any contingency, it will be trouble if the electronic lock comes with problem, especially for the main entrance. Overall, I am satisfied with the stay. I will consider coming back when I come to Kyoto or choosing other M’s Hotel in other destinations.

  It is very basic but don’t let that fool you. Check-in was simple and staff was very helpful and friendly. Very new hotel so everything was very good still.
