Lovely hotel very close to metro

    rating08 Nov 2025

Stayed for 3 nights in room 201, a standard twin room- was concerned it was right next to the lift but absolutely no noise from the lift so all fineLovely friendly staff at check-in explained all the hotel's amenitiesThe hotel looks lovely, very well decorated, lots of greenery and very calmingLovely addition is the guest lounge, sofas and tables/chairs plus free hot and cold drinksThey also have a roof terrace, a few bench/table seats but was great in the sunshine while we were there! We stayed room only so can't comment on breakfast/ cafeGood size twin bedsSeperate toliet and bathroom/wetroom with bath and shower. good shower and very nice complimentary toiletriesUSB by beds for charging phones and reading lightsAlso had fridge with water pitcher you can fill from the guest lounge on the ground floor, kettle and mugs.At reception there are cupboards with free toothbrush/hairbrush,vanity sets, plus nightshirts to borrow! There was a bit of road noise for us, it is a busy road, but very close to Marutamachi metro station, very good for public transport such as buses and the Imperial Palace just a few steps away. They kindly minded our luggae for us after check-out while we visited the PalaceWould definitely reccommend and would stay again 京都 rakuro, Other at RAKURO Kyoto by THE SHARE HOTELS, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at RAKURO Kyoto. Very clean and well located hotel

    rating06 Apr 2025

There were a couple of issues to prevent my return to this hotel. There were no closets in the room so you had to live out of a suitcase and no sort of seating except cushions on the floor. My biggest disappointment was the breakfast which offered a ‘western’ breakfast with mushroom soup on a daily basis! Toast and a croissant would have fitted the bill much better!

    Experience Kyoto in style

    rating23 Mar 2025

Great, well designed hotel that offers you a modern chique Japanese-style (and even matching slippers and nightwear). Additionally, they have a small coffee shop and an area where you can relax. Also, Rakuro is in walking distance of the subway, several convenient stores, restaurants and the Palace. However, don't get breakfast - if you are staying longer than one night - because it is the same every single day (so save yourself the cost). 京都 rakuro, Other at RAKURO Kyoto by THE SHARE HOTELS, responded to this review Thank you very much for staying at RAKURO Kyoto. We are also delighted to receive your kind words regarding the hotel's design and convenient location. We appreciate your valuable feedback regarding the breakfast offerings. We will strive to make improvements to ensure our guests' satisfaction. We will continue our efforts to provide a more comfortable service.RAKURO Kyoto Kimura

Lovely Place With Little Space. Perhaps 3.5 on a scale of 5.

    rating29 Nov 2024

Stayed in a Standard Queen for about $250US per night.PROS;+Very stylish and very clean+Friendly staff+Great location+Huge and modern bathroom+Breakfast was good. An American option and a Japanese option.CONS;-Small Rooms. The queen bed took up half the bedroom.-Half the allotted space of the floor plan was taken up with the bathroom. Very poor use of space.-No real luggage space. We had to use the desk for one suitcase and the one luggage rack for the other.-No drawers or shelves to store anything. Four hangers on a bar on the wall of the bedroom. No hooks to hang towels in the bathroom.-Basically, you have to live directly out of your suitcase. Poor use of space.-Nowhere to sit but on the bed.-Not that it was a big deal but only Japanese TV. 京都 rakuro, Other at RAKURO Kyoto by THE SHARE HOTELS, responded to this review Thank you very much for staying at RAKURO Kyoto. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our staff, location, and breakfast. However, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the limited space in your room. We will use your valuable feedback to improve our operations and strive to enhance your experience. RAKURO Kyoto Kimura

    Tiny bedrooms

    rating16 Apr 2024

First positives, good location for exploring Kyoto.Hotel is clean tidy and comfortable however the bedrooms are tiny! I mean tiny. Just enough room to walk past bed. The bathroom was really good with a wet room with shower and a bath. Nowhere for your luggage at all. The bed was comfortable though The breakfast was poor in my opinion, one drink only with coffee or fruit juice not both and a bread roll with the tinniest bit of butter I have ever seen! We ate out the other 2 mornings. Staff were welcoming and friendly and we had sent our suitcases on from Tokyo and they had stored them for 2 days. However we asked if they could call a taxi for us and they refused and said we wouldn’t get one so we downloaded a taxi app and got one in a couple of minutes. It does have a lounge area but we only used it to fill up our water bottles. I wouldn’t stay again unfortunately it just wasn’t for us
