Having stayed in dozens of hotels in Japan, I was very surprised by how big the room was compared to other chains. Especially considering how affordable it is. Everything spotlessly clean, of course. Japanese beds are usually too hard for my tastes, but this one was very comfortable.Perfect location a stone's throw from the train station. Very easy to navigate Sendai from here as the Loople bus stops nearby. There can be a bit of a ruckus on the square facing the hotel during the day (there was some event when I stayed there) but it was very quiet at night.I'd gladly stay here again.

Perfect location

Great hotel with warm and accomodating staff made our stay very pleasant and memorable. Complete amenities, breakfast buffet was very good. Book in the new wing as the original building is older. Located above the Sendai central train station. Perfect location with everything you need is just walking distance 🤗

Health, Safety and Management Failure!
24 Oct 2025
Health and safety failure! Bloody towel! We booked this hotel because of its newness, good reviews, proximity to family we were visiting. The Negative: Never in our many many years of travel and especially in Japan, on our final leg of our 3 week trip, did we find an unbelievable major breach in health and safety standards. Folded neatly among the other bath towels, my husband unfolded the bottom towel after his shower and almost started to use the blood stained towel! There were 2 blood stains...not just a couple of little drops, but someone had to have had a pretty deep cut for the amount of blood they let drip onto the towel the way the blood spread out when the towel got damp, suggests that it happened after the hotel washed and dried it, then it was folded inward (so no one could see it), our room got it, husband saw it, we left it in bathroom with disgust, called the manager as soon as was made aware in the morning. (see attached photo)The front desk manager came up within several minutes, to see for herself after I complained about what we saw on the towel in the room, how disgusting this was, and made everything in the room feel awful, unsanitary, disgusting. She took the towel away, kept bowing, and offered another room, which of course we took. She was helpful in that she did find us a room relatively quickly and helped move the luggages herself. But, we spent hours repacking, waiting, moving to another floor, same room type and then unpacking again. Of course, now we had to double check everything and disinfect what we could and looked hard before we used the towels. She left us a bottle of their alcohol spray bottle to use, at least.I would have expected much more than just a few bows of apology after this experience. Something tangible. Upgraded room? 1-2 nights free? A couple of meals? We are back home in the US now and no one in upper management ever called or wrote to us to discuss this awful experience, only that front desk manager who was working that day. This complaint needs to be escalated to the highest level! Our stay was over after a few days and hoping that none of us got infected with any virus because of their breach....we are both health professionals!AND THEN, we moved onto our next hotel in Tokyo (not related to this hotel at all), and upon check in, the front desk told us that Hotel Metropolitan called to say we still owe them money! What? It was for the hotel breakfasts in which we did room charges all signed and verified at the time (they have us sign in at the host stand before we are even seated). After all the above, they had the gall to literally chase us down at another hotel. How they found us is a mystery. They asked our new hotel to talk to us about paying thru a linked site. We said ok, H. Metro sent us a payment link, for the disputed charges, but on this form, they had us checking in for the day we already left with the breakfast charge in place of what they would charge for the room. I still need to keep an eye on this, because how they did this did not make sense! Also to note, they had our credit card from the original booking and then when we checked in!This place was just unbelieveable!I still hope that the highest level in management will be in contact with us!The Positive: We did encounter a buffet host from Italy... hewas very kind and friendly everytime we saw him.We cannot recommend or give this hotel a positive review.

Great Location for Tourists
12 Oct 2025
This is a very nice hotel located close to Sendai Station, as well as downtown shops, restaurants, and all other essential services for tourists. In fact, an escalator from the hotel lobby takes you directly to the plaza where the entrance to the train station is located.A little bit expensive, but worth it for the convenience.

Convenient, nice hotel
28 Aug 2025
Very conveniently located next to the train station, this hotel has a good size room with a lounge and table (the table was in the way). The bathroom was on the small side and very hot, ventilation wasn't great.
