    Worse signature cookies than before and worse airport pickup service, but still nice terrace room andgood location

    It was my second time to stay in DoubleTree by Hilton at the American Village. I booked the exact same room type. The room was spacious despite there were 3 of us for a double room. I like that the toilet and the shower were segregated, so the bathroom could be put to fuller use. Amenities were provided. The location was prime at American Village. Access was easy to the sea side and there were plenty of restaurant options nearby. My family was very happy with the room with a terrace facing the sea. Just like in 2023, we booked buffet breakfast. The range of selection was plenty and there were also some Okinawa dishes. What disappointed me a bit was their signature cookies (provided for free upon check-in) were not as good as those in 2023. Back in 2023, the cookies were brownie-filled and the staff heated it up before serving. My friend and I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the cookies. However, the cookies served this time were just ordinary chocolate chip cookies (not warm) and it looked like they were just taken out from a cookie jar. Maybe they have scaled down their services?I asked DoubleTree to arrange a taxi pickup from the airport. There were confusing instructions in the email - on one hand, I was told in the email that someone would be holding up a sign with my name on it (they did so in 2023), but on the other hand, I was asked to walk to a specific point to look for the reserved taxi. It ended up that there was no one holding up a sign. We followed the signs of "reserved taxi" in the airport but the signs were very confusing and we were led to an area which is probably for reserved cars from Uber or something. We didn't find the taxi and so, we went back to the tourist centre of the airport, which wasn't very helpful. In the end, we figured out that the waiting point was just one of the ordinary taxi stands. It took us more than 30 minutes to resolve the taxi issue. I think the hotel should give clearer and more proper instructions, especially the fees had been raised by like 3k JPY when compared with than in 2023.     Outstanding hotel staff members

    We happened to be visiting Japan during an early season flu epidemic that is growing with each day. Despite my son and I being current on our vaccines, I was diagnosed with Influenza A using a home test kit I had brought with me. The hotel front desk staff member whose name I did not write down, was wonderful, kind and generous to ask me what the hotel might be able to offer to make my illness less uncomfortable. Did I need to have her call an ambulance (no), did I need more water or any other item delivered to the room (yes) or was there any other request I needed to make of the hotel? She apologized that the hotel did not have access to a medical provider, but she helped me find a phone number for a local medical facility so I could call for a same day appointment. She also said she would be happy to call a cab for me when I was ready to go to the medical facility. At the desk after my appt, she gave me a fever pack to place on my forehead. Since the hotel was sold out after our 3-day stay, I had to move to another hotel in Naha since we had to cancel our travel plans to Ishigaki Island. The staff member allowed us to stay an extra hour after checkout and also called a taxi for us when we departed. In addition, she walked us out to the cab and opened the door to the cab for me. We had an excellent experience at this hotel - hotel staff members, the rooms, level of comfort, ocean view with balcony, breakfast buffet, access to other hotel amenities and location. But the kind and supportive care I received during my illness by this staff member really made all the difference in making my visit to Japan a special one. Thank you to the Doubletree by Hilton chain of hotels for employing staff that are very compassionate and supportive of your guests.     Great location close to American Village

    Recently stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Hotel has a coin operated laundry which was very popular but hard to get access to the dryers as the US troops staying in the hotel are quite often using these. Rooms were large for Japan standards and very comfortable and well appointed. My only area for improvement is the breakfast buffet as the hot food was sometimes cold. I would happily stay here again.     Relaxing place to stay in Okinawa

    Excellent hotel in convenient location. Easy walk to restaurants, cafes, convenience stores & other shops. The room was well appointed and a good size. Comfy beds & nice bathroom. Loved the pool area, and a bonus was being able to use the Hilton pools & facilities.Recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay in Okinawa.     Celebrating the Anniversary with my Girlfriend

    여자친구와 기념일을 맞아 방문했습니다. 힐튼 아너스 골드 멤버로 객실 업그레이드, 웰컴 드링크 및 쿠키 등 따뜻한 환대를 받아 너무나도 좋았던 기억들 투성입니다. 가능하다면 추가금 내서라도 리버뷰로 업그레이드 받아서 투숙하시길 바래요!동계라서 야외수영장은 이용 못햇지만, 바로 옆 힐튼이랑 시설을 공유하기에 바로 넘어가서 실내수영장을 편안하게 함께 이용하고 왔어요!I visited here to celebrate the anniversary with my girlfriend. I got the room upgrade as complimentary as Hilton honors Gold memeber, and welcome drinks with cookies as well. When I entered the room, we really surprised that there were 2 swans on the bed. And then our 2nd surprise was the view of the room. Also Doubletree and Hilton sharing the some facilites - gym, swimming pool. It is really easy to get there, and awesome point that they sharing it. Also if you get out the hotel, you can reach out to the American village within few seconds. It was one of the best points. And there are various menu at the breakfast restaurant, even there is coin laundry in the hotel. I highly recommend to you if you have any plan to visit Okinawa. Thanks for all your team members effort and service. I saw a lot of your team member working, however I could not get all of the name.
