A Bit Far from Train Stations; Onsen, Free Ice Cream; Free Ramen; 2 Things Should be Improved

    rating25 Oct 2025

Normally Dormy location was located far away from train stations, and this one was not different. It was in the middle between 2 stations, so this was not convenient for train travelers with luggage. However, the perks of staying here were quite extraordinary.Onsen was there for relaxing a long tiring day. Free ice cream, yogurt drinks and ramen were available. My family and I enjoyed these every day for the entire trip. Amenities in rooms were great and adequate. Family Mart was right there on the first floor with special entrance inside the building for hotel guests.Only 2 things I would recommend that they should improve. First, check-in process was being pushed to machine, which was understandable. But with a family of 8 people trying to check in 3 rooms altogether, this caused a bit of problems as all passports needed to be scanned, and we did not understand the purpose of some questions/processes, thus slowing us down and making a queue longer. They should have staff ready to accommodate a group check-in, especially for foreigners, and let single/local traveler use machine.Second, the lady staff who managed breakfast in front of the breakfast room was unnecessarily impolite. I was not sure if it was about language barrier, but I felt her gesture was not that friendly. When I tried to explain something, she waved her hands and asked us to wait. It was not that bad, and I knew she was doing her job, but I really thought she could do better for the sake of hotel name.Other than that, I felt wonderful at Dormy and would really consider staying at this hotel chain again in other cities.

Solid hotel in Osaka with Onsen. Great bang for buck

    rating27 Apr 2025

Great size for a Japanese hotel. Onsen was from 3pm to 10am which was amazing for end of day rest before going to bed. The ones that closed at 11 pm or midnight were very annoying. Did have to walk about 5-10 minutes fovget to "good" train stations, but 10/10 would recommend this spot.

    Birthday Trip

    rating16 Nov 2023

This is my third time visiting Osaka. I have been staying in this brand’s hotel, just opposite to this one - the Annex one. This time I try to stay here for 3 nights before heading back to HK. The staff is quite good in English and she spoke slowly I to me in Japanese as I’m not very good at Japanese😅. The room is quite small as usual in Japan but it’s clean and tidy. Free Ramen and icecream between 9:00-11:00 pm and free Yakult between 08:00-10:00. The public bath is ok but there is no massage chair here comparing with the Annex one😅😅. It’s just next to Shinsaibashi, convenient for shopping and walk. Highly recommended!

Japanese character, an oasis in a frantic city.

    rating03 Nov 2023

I stayed in the adorns Hotel Annex, which I believe is listed on Google Maps under a different name. Anyhow, it is associated with the Hotel Dormy Premium. It is a very comfortable city centre hotel primarily catering to Japanese people. All the signs in the room were in a Japanese and I don’t think the reception staff had a good command of English. The room was very comfortable, there was a lovely onsen on the top floor, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Most Japanese hotels seem to provide some form of nightwear, and at the Dormy Hotel, this was a fabulously comfortable pair of cotton pajamas. Many of the Japanese guests wore them at the breakfast buffet!
