    A room with a view

    rating30 Mar 2026

While not near the hustle and bustle of Namba or Umeda, this is nevertheless a decent location to spend the night. Especially if you are planning a visit to Osaka Castle. As we came by car, we were happy to avoid the confusing traffic of those other 2 areas. The rooms are clean, and we had a pretty good deal with some coupons. There are laundry facilities, and even Japanese manga available to read! One side of the hotel has a view of the Castle, but the other is the "City View" side, which does not. The castle side is popular and of course a higher rate. The 12th floor restaurant - also the breakfast space - has the castle view as well, if you miss it from your room.Parking is available at a good rate until 11:00 am the next day, but they unofficially will allow you an extra hour. So a morning visit to the castle is a possibility if you leave your luggage at the front before checking out. There is a regular shuttle bus service which will take you to the nearby Morinomiya subway and train stations, which are about 10 minutes away on foot. The Osaka Loop line (train) is the quickest and most direct way to Umeda. There is also a sort of mini-mall nearby (Morinomiya Q's Mall Base) which is convenient for various shopping you might want to do. The breakfast plan will cost extra, but I'd have to say the view makes it worth doing. Although heavier on the Japanese breakfast options, there are still a few western dishes available.

The Hotel that's in love with Osaka Castle

    rating13 Mar 2023

I've traveled Japan quite extensively, and so far, this is the one of the best hotel (for it's value) that I've ever stayed in. At first, I had doubts on the hotel location, seeing that I'm travelling with infant and a big luggage, but to my surprise the location is quite convenient. The connection to the subway station and JR station means you can visit almost every tourist attraction in Osaka.Just a few steps from the subway exit, the hotel provides a shuttle bus which operates every 15-minutes. Although, putting big luggage into the minibus was quite a challenge, once seated in the bus you can breathe a sigh of relief. The receptionist speaks English, so the check-in process is quite hassle free. There's a Family Mart behind the hotel in case you are looking for something to eat at night as the area is quite quiet at night. Inside the hotel there are coin operated laundry, vending machine and ice machine so your basic necessities are covered.I stayed in the Superior Room, which is the biggest room they have to offer us there. It was quite spacious and luxurious, and we really enjoyed the bathtub, which was a relief after a few days of staying in small hotel rooms of Kyoto. The view from the room is spectacular. You can continuously enjoy the view of Osaka Castle in the morning and at night. It must have been much more spectacular once the Sakura trees surrounding the castle is in full bloom. The only thing that I could nitpick on the room is that the bed and the pillow should've been as plush as the room. The breakfast menu is not quite extensive, nevertheless it is quite delicious. I will definitely stay in KKR Hotel Osaka again for my next trip.

    Great location for the Castle.

    rating20 Jul 2018

Located directly opposite Osaka Castle Park, couldn't ask for a better location. We booked a renovated castle view room, and it was a nice large room, with a great view of the castle. We stayed during the recent very hot weather but the AC system in the room coped well and kept us cool at night. Breakfast on 12th floor with castle view was superb, great mix of western style (cereals, fruit, yogurt, croissants etc) plus full Japanese selection. However, in the evening, 12th floor dinner selection was very poor, seemed to be limited to two fixed price/fixed menu Japanese meals, no other selections (No English language menus either). We went out for evening meals!. Hotel reception sells discounted castle entrance tickets.

    Perfect location

    rating11 Apr 2018

Spent one night here. It is located across the street from the Osaka Castle. Breakfast is included, the rooms clean and not too small. The staff is attentive and speak english. The buffet for breakfast was a good mix of traditional Japanese food and American style. It is a larger hotel one, but the feeling of quaintness.

    Amazing view from room

    rating23 Nov 2017

Located in between two subway stations, about 10 mins walk to either one. If you're lucky, you'll have a room overlooking Osaka Castle and park , so you can take good photos. Room is reasonable size but good for couple with light luggage. Walking distance to Osaka Castle, i.e. less than 5 mins. Shuttle bus available to drop you off at either stations but does not pick you up from Station. Not close to any major shopping or food, but easily accessible using subway.
