Location

Uniquely located in a development complex adjacent to Osaka Castle, juxtaposing a sleek and comfortable modern design, the hotel incorporates a wide range of nearby shopping and dining options, and the beauty and history of Osaka Castle and its delightful gardens bordering the Yodogawa River. It is a beautiful 10-minute stroll across the river from the castle, passing en route the pick-up/drop-off pier for one of Osaka's newest attractions, the Aqua Liner River Cruise. The Castle Gardens, containing a variety of trees including peach, cherry and maple, are particularly enchanting in spring and autumn, but captivating all year round. The hotel is 3 minutes on foot from Osaka Jo Koen railway station on the JR Osaka Loop Line offering access to Universal Studios, Osaka City Centre, and Osaka railway station (15 minutes), from where there is access to nearby Kyoto and Nara. Alternatively, the hotel is 15 minutes by taxi from Osaka railway station, 25 minutes by taxi from Shin Osaka railway station with bullet train access to Kyoto, Tokyo and Hiroshima.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in an 18-storey building with a lift and 525 non-smoking rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock.     Terrible hotel. Even worse staff. Too expensive for the services they provide. Old and rundown rooms, unpleasant staff. They charge more money than they advertise on travel sites.     This hotel is definitely not a 5-star experience it feels more like an outdated 3-star property. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been renovated since the 1980s, and overall the hotel feels old and tired.One thing that really annoyed me was the breakfast system. They give you paper breakfast vouchers that you have to bring down every morning. Why not just use the room number like almost every modern hotel does? It felt inconvenient and unnecessary.I also asked for extra water in the room and was told that only 2 bottles are complimentary and any additional bottles have to be paid for. For the prices they charge, this is honestly ridiculous and not what you expect from a 5 star hotel.Very disappointing experience overall.     I first visited a New Otani hotel in Tokyo in 2005 and immediately fell in love with their service-oriented atmosphere and traditional values that belnded japanese customs with modern service. My wife and I decided to stay at the Osaka location for the end of our vacation in May of 2026, and nothing has changed: the service is phenomenal, the staff are extremely professional, and the onsite amenities, restaurants and shops are plentiful and varied. The fact that they still leave a paper newspaper outside your door each morning speaks to their commitment to tradition. Our room had a lovely view of Osaka Castle and the sleep quality was good. The staff here all speak wonderful English, even though they don’t have to, and we never felt like there was any sort of language barrier. Lastly, the staff here will bend over backwards to fulfill pretty much anything reasonable, and they do it all with friendly smiles and respectful bows. The limo bus to the airport was so easy to book with them and provided us with a stress-free last few days in Japan without worrying how we would get to the airport.     Restful start to a short holiday in Japan.

    Lovely spacious rooms. We had views of the Castle and Osaka-Jo Hall. It’s located in the business district but very close to the train loop and nearby metro station. There’s the beautiful river and park surrounds.Arrived on a wet weather day, from KIX airport via train and the staff were all ready to help us get into our room to dry out. There was a very popular strawberry themed high tea hosted by the hotel and it’s a popular venue for banquets.Thank you to all the staff who were always around to help!     I am extremely disappointed with this hotel. I am currently writing this from my hotel room at this same hotel. We come from 4 star hotels in Tokyo and Kyoto which were exceptional. Sadly, this 5 star hotel has been awful. When we booked this property, their listing included amenities such as pool and Onsen. To our surprise, the pool has an extra fee, just to access to it. About the onsen – there is no onsen. This was supposed to be the best hotel to end our Japan trip.
