    Not a great experience

    rating13 Oct 2025

Stayed in this hotel one night, during a holiday in Japan. Stayed in 5 other hotels, all really good. I didn't enjoy this stay at all. The bed was rock hard, like concrete. The pillow was hard on one side and uncomfortable (a notice on the headboard explains the pillow). The double-bed room was tiny, as was the bathroom. Despite asking for a room facing away from the railway lines, we were put in a room where trains could be heard all night. Thin walls meant that you could hear fellow room occupants. The breakfast was of Japanese cuisine (fair enough, it's in Japan), so if you want 'western' food, you'll have a limited choice. Unlike other hotels, the staff seemed uninterested and less helpful. It's primarily a business hotel because of its close location to the station. It is useful for the station, though takes a little while to find it despite being close. Positives: the room and hotel were clean and tidy. The views from the breakfast room are great, and also if you are put in a room facing the city centre. The view to the railway station side is good, but noisy. Overall, did not enjoy staying in this hotel at all: stayed out as long as we could on the night of our stay, and left early in the morning. Other reviewers also say that it is not a cheap hotel. Given the quality of other hotels we stayed in, this was not a good-quality experience.

    Big hotel

    rating25 Jun 2025

Shin Osaka Washington Hotel Plaza is a huge hotel. It is very conveniently located about four or five minutes walk to Shin Osaka Station. The reception area is very big and the staff are quite professional. We stayed here in May 2025 for two nights. Our room was a good size, more spacious than the other hotels we stayed in Japan. Unfortunately the beds were not big enough to be double beds (as they were supposed to be), which was rather disappointing. The room was clean and the air con worked okay, although not perfect. Water pressure in the bath was good. The bath tub/shower space was far too high and very difficult to get in and out of it. The towels were very thin. A kettle was provided. The TV was all in Japanese and was very difficult to work out how it worked. The breakfast room was very busy but all the choices were Japanese/Asian. Too bad if you had different taste. The only choices for us were yoghurt and cereal, tea and coffee and some sliced orange. Some tiny soft bread buns were also available, all white and some butter and jam. No hard boiled or fried eggs. No "Western" choices,

    Needs updating but adequate

    rating13 Jun 2025

Spent two nights here during a tour of Japan. It was the largest hotel room on our trip. Actually had a closet! Worn mid-century modern decor. Room very clean with refrigerator, electric kettle, and offered sleepwear. VERY hard matters and pillow. The AC was either COLD or off. Room had great soundproofing considering we were right by the train tracks. Staff was reserved but accommodating. Breakfast had a few more things we could eat. Pre fixe dinner in hotel restaurant was decent and reasonable.

Beware of noisy side opposite Osaka Railway station

    rating15 Nov 2024

First room was a twin room and reasonably spacious. Unfortunately it overlooked a flyover and a train line. The noise was quite loud at 4pm in the afternoon. As I was part of a tour group our guide was able to speak to reception and organise a move to a quiet room on the inside of the hotel. The room was tiny, mostly just a double bed with no space to open my suitcase. However the room was quiet and I was able to get to sleep which was preferable to having a larger room but lots of noise. The trains ran until after midnight so the move was necessary as I am a light sleeper.

    Good location

    rating09 Nov 2023

The rooms were a really good size and the place was lovely and clean. Very close to the station. Nice restaurant in the 23rd floor. Most staff were lovely but the lady at the front desk on the front desk on sat 10th Nov was unhelpful to the point of rudeness.. it was a shame.
