  A good choice convenient to the airport

  This is a reasonable Tokyo hotel, with some extras. We were in a western style room. Like other Tokyo hotels in this price range, the room was very small, but comfortable nevertheless. It included a bidet toilet, a deep bathtub and shower. We opted for the breakfast, which was a buffet of Japanese and western items. There is a public bath on the top floor, which I'd rate as okay: the outdoor pool was nice but had no view, and I like it hotter than 41C. The indoor pool was a whirlpool. I prefer a still bath.The hotel is very close to exit 3 of Ueno station, which is quite convenient if you are traveling to or from the airport.The lobby and restaurant are both small, so were too crowded at times. Don't expect breakfast at 7 am, but 8:30 was fine.

  Excellent location to Ueno, but poor setup for luggage storage.

  I stayed at this hotel for its proximity to ueno Park at the time of the Cherry blossom, and for its proximity to the sky liner to Narita. The location is superb. The rooms are typical for a Japanese hotel: moderate size and spotless clean. There’s a lot of technology and really not much personnel for the volume of people who are staying here. they offer to store luggage, which is a big perk, but the space for it is very limited, causing some stress for guests and staff. especially with some people having enormous suitcases. I feel for the staff who have to deal with this situation.

  Good location, no laundry facilities

  This was the first time I stayed on the east side of Tokyo, and I'd gladly stay at this hotel again, mainly because it's close to my favorite bath in Tokyo and Ueno is a nice part of town. The room was cramped as per usual with APA hotels. As with other APA hotels there is only cleaning every three days.No need to pay for a room with a view of the park. There's no way to sit and enjoy the view. The only way to enjoy the view is to do a Michael Scott in the Dinner Party episode of the office: "I could just stand here and watch television for hours".There was no noise as far as I could hear, and I'm a very light sleeper. The beds are standard APA beds.Like other APA hotels the atmosphere is professional but impersonal.The various booking sites have different information (the hotel's own website is down as I'm writing this) but I can confirm that there are NO laundry facilities in the hotel. You have to use laundromats which are a 10-15 minute walk away (there are several in the area).

  Love it for its location to Keisei Ueno Skyliner.

  Went in February, wintry cold weather at sub 10 celsius. APA Keisei Ueno has the best location if you intend to take the Keisei Skyliner train to Narita airport.The Good- Location, just 2 mins walk to Keisei Ueno Skyliner Ekimae for the express train, ~45mins to Narita Airport, all terminals. - Easy 8mins walk to JR East Ueno Station for trains to other parts of Tokyo.- 5 mins walk to lots of eateries & small shops at Ameyoko, Ueno Park- bathroom has a small tub for a nice hot soak after shopping - i think APA installed new lightings in the bedroom since my last stay years back. - I love the new brighter lightings. - Provide jammies n full toiletries for stay.- Express check out machine- u just have to return room key via machine at reception area.The Not So Good- Room size- booked a single room and a double room, both rooms are same size at 11sqm, rather tight space for couple with luggages, ie u cannot open 2 luggages in the same room at the same time.- the hotel interior does not have heating along the corridors, so it is cold n have to don a jacket to walk within the hotel premises. - Couldnt activate the room aircon remote to get the desired temperature despite an English pamphlet.- APA provides 2 bottles of complimentary mineral water on your 1st night only. If u stay for more days, you need to buy your own. The So- So- Booked rooms with breakfast, which was simple Japanese with grilled fish, hard boiled egg, rice, miso soup & also breads & pastries & beverages. - Good if u want to just eat in but there are plenty of good options beyond the hotel within 5mins walk.- breakfast is simple Japanese fare, breads, hot beverages.It would be great if it had onsite onsen for a proper nice hot soak. I would still recommend APA Keisei Ueno Ekimae highly for its location, but be aware the rooms are small. Please be mindful there are a few APA at Ueno.

  Excellent location and great value next to Ueno Park

  APA Hotel Keisei Ueno Ekimae is in an excellent location, right next to the beautiful Ueno Park and close to transport. The room was small but well set up and good value for money. Service was excellent throughout our stay, making it a very comfortable and convenient base in Tokyo. Keisei Ueno Station is just a minute away by walking from here, and it takes you less than an hour to get to Narita Airport by Skyliner. Our room is organized relatively small in order to reduce the amount of carbo dioxide emitted from one room, accotding to our "being eco-friendly" policy.However, we guess there is no problem about spending your time on your bed, which is developed by our own to specialize in comfortable sleeping quality.Thank you for posting the review.
