Convenient hotel in a seedy area

    rating12 May 2025

My husband and I have stayed at a Daiwa Roynet hotel before but were disappointed with this one. It was mostly the area that we didn't like. Akabane is a convenient station to go various places and the hotel is very close to the station, but the area is most definitely seedy and I did not appreciate bar hostesses/sex workers standing outside our hotel all day long, as well as the men in black suits next to large black vehicles. We never had any problems but we were uncomfortable. The room was extremely small but reasonable for Tokyo. The staff at the front desk tried hard and were nice. Almost none were Japanese. We had maid service every day and did appreciate that.

The room was spacious and fully equipped.

The hotel is conveniently located on the roadside, just a short distance from the Akabane train station and shopping area, with plenty of nearby restaurants offering a variety of dining experiences. The room was clean with high-quality bedding, and the staff was very friendly.

Our 2024 Spring Vacation in Tokyo

    rating27 May 2024

We had a very nice and memorable stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Tokyo Akabane last first week of May(Golden week). Location is perfect. It’s near to the Akabane train station. Just 5-10 minute walk, depending on which East exit gate you’re taking. The sout gate east exit is much closer to the hotel. The hotel is also close to the convenience store(Family Mart, 7/11, Ministop). Akabane station is also near to number of famous food chains(Mc Donalds, KFC, Burger King). Denny’s is also just right next to the North Gate East exit. There are also a number of very delicious ramen and curry restaurants nearby. With regards to the room, we book for Double Non-smoking room. It has enough space for 2 adults and one 11 year old boy. The room is very clean, typical with the Japanese standard). And the price is reasonable. Akabane station is also close and just a few stops away from the major train stations like(Shinjuku, Shibuya, Tokyo and Ueno Stations). Hence, it’s a very convenient starting point where ever you go around Tokyo. I will likely be coming back here in our future visit to Tokyo. And for my suggestions, just like in any other hotels we’ve stayed in Japan(Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo), I wish hotels in Japan can provide more TV channels that’s in English. Or at least they can provide more stations with subtitles.

We had a great stay in a nice room with a super bed. The room was clean and comfortable. The wet unit was fully equipped and had added value to our stay. The breakfast was very good we choose the Japanese style breakfast from the buffet and enjoyed the delicious food. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. 東京赤羽 ダ, 支配人 at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Tokyo Akabane, responded to this review Thank you very much for staying at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Akabanbe this time.Thank you for your deep kindness to our staff. Please do use it when you come to Akabane again. looking forward to seeing you coming again.

    Representative of a nice chain

    rating15 Jun 2019

DWs tend to have slightly larger rooms and beds than most Japanese business hotels, so if you like a little more space, it's a good choice, but a little more expensive. They offered single-cup brew packets of coffee, which was a nice touch for this jet-lagged gaijin. Breakfast was included in my rate; I usually don't take that option, and hit the streets and bakeries and Starbucks, but this was a nice breakfast with a lot of tasty nibbles, both Japanese and western, and English explanations which were reassuring.Very convenient to the South exit. Hint: take a low-numbered car to be near the South exit, or stay on the platform almost to the south end, as if you descend on the north side, you will either need to reascend, or leave via the North exit. The east side of the South exit puts you on a little alley that takes you past some- ahem- "gentlemen's clubs," (but not threatening) and a nice soba noodle shop, to the side entry of the hotel (not marked, but clearly there).Friendly staff; good AC at the beginning of hot rainy season; quiet. 東京赤羽 ダ, 支配人 at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Tokyo Akabane, responded to this review Thank you for posting a review following your recent stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Tokyo-Akabane.Thank you for mentioning the staff and the rooms. We hope that you had a safe trip home and that we may welcome you again soon.
