    When I visited Japan for business, I was impressed by the unique Japanese hotels that were different from those in my home country.     Clean, new and free wi-fi, but inflexible staff and lousy breakfast

    Disclaimer: I've only stayed in two hotels in Asia all together, so I'm comparing this hotel to hotels I've stayed in in Europe and the US. I arrived the hotel at 1 PM after 14 hours in planes and trains, and was more than ready for a shower and to relax in my room. The staff however insisted that there wasn't a single room available before check-in time, which for this hotel is 4 PM! Check-out time is at 10 AM, so they spend 6 hours of cleaning the rooms until they all magically get ready at the same time at 4 PM... My room was really tiny, by far the smallest room I've ever stayed in. It wasn't possible to open my suitcase when it was on the floor, I had to put it onto my bed. The breakfast is a joke, check the photo (here I have put absolutely everything from the breakfast buffet in my plate, the only other thing that was available was tea). On the positive side: there is free wireless network in the lobby, and free internet (using a provided ethernet cable) in the room. The location is also quite good, it's a quiet area but still there are a few very good restaurants and bars within walking distance, as well as subway stations. The hotel is very simple, but both the room and the lobby looks newly refurbished, clean and nice. The bed is also good. All in all it's not a very good hotel by European or US standards, but it's much better than Kudan Kaikan, another hotel close by.
