    Good hotel. Train is very near

    We didn't expect much as we booked this hotel only because it was the only one available during one of Tokyo's peakest season,Sakura. Other options are either located too far and extremely overpriced.But nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay. Our 7-yr old daughter loved the common dining area where she ate her breakfast everyday with a really nice view. One of the best amenities of the hotel is the laundry area as we are traveling with an infant and able to wash his clothes regularly. The machines are heavy duty and able ro clean and dry clothes well. One thing to improve would be the beds. I think they are either too old or not well maintained. The matresses are uneven and could be a problem for guests with back problems. The toilet in our room is also the old traditional one. It would have been nicer with the Japan's standard toilet with automatic bidet. Overall, it was ok and location is very convenient as it is just next to the train station.

    Unfair Consumer Practice.

    We book a room in this hotel for 2 adults for seven days via booking.com but after we paid the full amount we received a message a day after informing us that the hotel will be charging us extra 2,000 JPY per day we did not agree of course no rational person would agree on the overcharges so cancel our booking, we have all the rights to cancel and demanded a refund but unfortunately they won't refund us any single centavo.You don't charge the customer after the transaction had already been processed it is illegal and unfair to customers. Adding insult to injury is after some few negotiations the hotel agree to not charge us extra but the Manager won't re-instate our booking we need to rebook again. Scam!!!!I send them an email and proof of all the conversation from booking.com that they are the one who instructed booking.com to charge us extra but the manager of the Hotel is so close minded and denied this and point the finger to booking.com and would not even bother to reply at all on my email, what a customer service.

    My family and I loved our stay in Oak Hotel Edo to is Christmas season!Their hotel staff were all kind and helpful, most of them being able to speak and understand English very well. They even helped is find a vehicle to take us to the airport. Our family room was not big as in most hotel rooms in Japan but we had a double bed and 2 single beds plus ample space for our huge luggages (3 large and 5 small ones). Their bathroom was also small enough that we were able to use the shower head to clean up when we use the toilet (since there was no bidet)They had a common lounge at the 3f where you can cook, heat food, and drink free coffee, tea, and soup. At the 10f is a lovely view of the Tokyo Skytree, which all guests should check out.One of the best advantages of this hotel is its location, which is about 4 mins away from Morishita subway that connects you to either the Shinjuku or Oedo lines. There was a Family Mart beside it, a must-try Sukiya across, and several other konbinis very near the place. There’s also Kitchen Origin where you can buy oishi Japanese food for takeaway.

    Small clean hotel near train station

    Visited Japan and stayed in this hotel with husband, a preteen and a teen. Stayed in a family room with a double bed and 2 singles. Bathroom is small and there are no cabinets to put clothes in. Only hooks to hang your clothes from. They have no meals in the hotel but there are restos around the place. You can even take out food from a store at the corner which is open 24 hours and eat in their kitchen/dining area which is open only until 10 PM. There's also Family Mart 2 doors down and a 7/11 around the corner. If you plan to stay in your room for long periods, I suggest you don't stay in this hotel as it is going to be claustrophobic. But if all you need is a clean place to stay and sleep, then this is the place for you. They do provide amenities like toothbrush, towels, soap, shampoo,conditioner and robe and a hairdryer. There's also a small ref inside the room. All in all, it's a nice place to stay in. And props to the staff. Very helpful. They answered all my questions promptly even before we got there.

    Lost of item during room service

    Everyday before we leave the hotel for our day activity we would pack all our stuff into our luggages and the desk, before the room service staff comes to clean our room. One of the days my youngest left his favourite teddy bear which he hugs to sleep every night on the bed. We came back in the evening and found it to be gone. The hotel counter staff told us she will help us check with the room service cleaner. After 2 failed attempts to recover the lost teddy, the hotel counter staff decided that they were done dealing with us and simply told us they are not responsible for any lost items in the room. I read their terms and conditions. They would expect us to pay for damages if we spoil any of their items but they will not make any attempt to compensate our loss for losing our things. Yes I can understand if it is valuables such as money that we left loosely laying around in the room. It was not an expensive teddy bear but it was precious to our 5-year old boy. He patiently waited for them to try to recover over 5 days as their communication with the room service staff was that slow and everyday he was disappointed. On another note, the room service was okay. Didn’t vacuum the floor well. Location is great. I won’t go back again as I don’t think I want to be told again that if they carelessly dump my things away from my room, that is my problem.
