    Stale smell in room

    rating20 May 2026

Just checked in and our room smells so stale.Really disheartened and disgusted. Felt disappointed by Jim comments that this hotel is still a great deal for the price. I'm really dissatisfied... I mean with 3 children aged 3 years and above I have no other option now. But really pathetic. And it's never about the money... had I been here without my family I would've surely walked off..

Pricey for the Quality / Feels Old

    rating15 Nov 2025

The hotel feels dated. We found it quite expensive considering how dated and old the rooms feel. We suggest the hotel consider a renovation to make the hotel feel better and more comfortable for the guests. There are also no staff available to assist late at night or early in the morning. We would not go here again.

    Coin laundry is still there!

    rating29 Jun 2025

This is a great place, and I would've rated it 5* except for a persistent misunderstanding over the room temperature and my request for an extra sheet. I think a native Japanese speaker would've had no trouble communicating, but my request was a bit unusual ...Anyway, the room was surprisingly large for a hotel in Tokyo and so was my "twin" bed, which seemed to be several in./cm. wider than one would get in the US or UK. The staff was very accommodating and the sheets were changed daily, quite a surprise when I was there for 5 days. The coin laundry that I read about in past reviews is still there (as of June 2025). It was really important for my 10-day trip with carryon only. You go out of the main entrance, turn left and then cross the major street (Shin Mejiro) at the next crosswalk; then the laundromat will be right in front of you. Current prices are ¥200 for wash (up to 4.5 kg.) or ¥300 (up to 7 kg), and ¥100 per 10 min. for dryer (which takes about 5 min. to cool down after your time is up).

    Nice hotel.

    rating30 Nov 2024

Very nice hotel, situated well and provides free bus every half hours to and from Takadonobaba station which proved super handy. Staff polite and helpful. Stayed for 2 weeks and would recommend again. Only suggestion is a welcome folder for the rooms explaining layout, nearby sights, etc. Also info section for tours would be good. Daily breakfast was lovely but a western visitor would have like crepes/pancakes and porridge option in the cool weather.

    Far away from anything

    rating16 Nov 2024

This hotel had a grand façade about 30 years ago. It is pretty rundown, although the rooms are quite large. the staff is extremely helpful. The downside of this hotel is that it is very very far from central Tokyo I mean really far. We really couldn’t find any place to eat. We needed a shuttle to get to the train station. We had to take a taxi about 20 minutes to do any shopping or to feel even remotely central to Tokyo.
