    Excellent for travelers!

Check-in was done in a flash, and the hotel clerk was able to preemptively answer all of my questions. The laundry machines automatically add detergent, which was a blessing, and the dryer was more effective than expected. The showers have great pressure and stay nice and hot. The aircon cooled the room quickly, and although the bed was not put together by staff, it took me all of one minute to lay out the sheets and get a pillowcase on the pillow. They have toiletries if you need them, and a vending machine on the lobby. The location is also very convenient if you're coming from Ikebukuro Station. All in all, I would highly recommend this location while travelling.

"We are from Canada, and my wife and I stayed at 'Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro' in Japan for five days. Our experience was excellent! The rooms were cleaned daily, and the entire place was well-maintained. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, always ready to assist us with anything we needed, including warming our food. The location is very convenient, with the subway and various amenities just a short walk away. We highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and hassle-free stay!"

    Love this place! Stay here!

I can to stay in the Sakura hotel ikebukurou for a study abroad summer trip and it was such an amazing stay. Ikebukuro is probably my favorite district of Tokyo-so many things to see, eat at, and shop-so I felt like I had a wonderful place on top of a lovely hotel experience. The staff were kind and could speak many languages so I didn’t feel nervous about asking for help. It was also an incredibly affordable stay and just so so comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe, inexpensive, and cute stay! Also there’s an adorable cafe across the street connected to the Sakura hotel so if you’re ever hungry and don’t want to go far you can always eat there and I just love it! Will truly miss this hotel and this country 🥹

Perfect for a solo traveler on a budget, but I’d pass on the breakfast

    rating18 Apr 2023

I paid $46/night (+$3/night for breakfast) for an 11 day stay here for my first time in Tokyo. I got a private room and private bathroom. It was the best decision I could possibly make. The room was very small (maybe 100 square feet) with just enough room for a bed, a desk, and a few hangers for your clothes. No closet or dresser. It wasn’t the cleanest establishment, but it was what I needed and it was a steal. The staff was lovely and so were all of the travelers I met. There’s daily housekeeping. They provide a disposable toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, and a comb every day. Location-wise, it’s a 7 minute walk to the train and there’s plenty to do in the neighborhood. If you’re solo, want to have an affordable vacation, and don’t care about a luxury experience, I very highly recommend it. One caveat: the breakfast probably isn’t worth it past the first couple days. It’s just toast, soup, some jam, coffee, and tea. Bananas or hard boiled eggs are 100 Yen extra. It’s cheap and easy but it gets old pretty fast. It’s alright if you want a quick cup of coffee, but beyond that, I was over it by day 4. There’s a 7-11 around the corner with great prepared foods at a very low cost, so go for that instead.
