    check in was smooth. room was great, comfort bed, clean and great toilet, quiet so can sleep well. near sugamo JR st. although we can't early check in but you can go around for sightseeing or got some meal. i got private room for single, good value for money if you solo spend night or two in Tokyo.

    Really happy with the cleaning, the green tea and bottles of water which were supplied everyday are a plus and a reminder of how the Japanese like to keep things healthy. Easy to use washing machine and dryer. Nobuyuki (one of the reception staff) was professional, helpful and went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed at the Hotel. Even gave me some pointers on where to visit in Tokyo. Really pleased overall!     I stayed there with my family for one night before going to Kyoyo. The hotel is easy to find and located very close to Sugamo JR station (Yamanote line). The staffs are friendly. Smile hotel is surrounded by a lot of restaurant, izakaya (Japanese beer drinking places). You can also visit Jizo-dori shopping street - the Granny's Harajuku - in the opposite site of Hakusan dori (Hakusan street). Please be noted that there are several cemeteries in Sugamo area. If you don't like to stay near cemeteries, Smile hotel is a good option. Price of this hotel is a bit pricey and there are no family room. Four member our family stayed in two adjacent rooms and that is not very convenience.     Great place away from the hustle, noise, and craziness

    It is a business hotel close to the train station, grocery store, and a family mart. Quiet at night.The only thing is that the bathroom is very small with a BIG step up to get into it. If it wasn't for the typhoon, earthquake, and the closing of the train it would have been an enjoyable stay. Thank goodness I had bought the breakfast package as restaurants were closed everywhere!c It was simple, tasty, and had things both suitable for Japanese and American/European tastes.     Four star experience for the price of 2. Room was unexpectedly large, a very convenient location!Recommended for those who prefer a more residential experience away from the bright lights of the 4 largest JR stations. It’s 5 minutes from the Sugamo station and you can pass by restaurants, a 24 hours supermarket (Seiyu), 7-11 and Family Mart on the way back. Housekeeping does a good job and I loved the humidifier and mini convection kettle provided. You can make your tea in the kettle then pour it into the Japanese tea cup provided. They provide 3 different types of cups for one hotel resident, which is amazing! A very sincere and hospitable place to stay in. Please be sure to visit the nearby shopping street as well, for all sorts of food specialty stores.
