  Fine Hotel for the Shinjuku Disrict

  I had things to do in the Shinjuku District of Tokyo before heading to another Perfecture and the Tokyo Business Hotel was recommended by a friend. I found the hotel well located and worthwhile for my needs. It is a Japanese hotel with futons and an on-site onsen. It is about 1/2 mile from Shinjuku Station and the crowded tourist and shopping district. For me this made it convenient yet quiet.

  I had to stay an extra night in Shinjuku due to last minute changes by my clients. As I entered, the smell of smoke was the first thing you notice. The staff at the front desk was not very helpful and seemed rude.The room was small and the stench of smoke was apparent even though it was a non-smoking room. The room, shared bathroom and the hotel in general, needs to be deep cleaned... Not all rooms have wifi!They lock you in (or out) from 1am to 6am which meant that I couldn't eat out so I had to rush out quickly to buy some takeaway food. It's cheap so I wasn't expecting much but I guess I didn't set my expectations low enough so I was still disappointed. I checked out as quickly as possible. I won't be returning if I can help it...

  Needed somewhere to stay for one night and it's hard to find cheap places in Tokyo. This place was really cheap compared to everywhere else. Rooms are old and rundown but the location is good and staff are nice. They lock the doors from 1am to 6am so if you want to go out partying it's not the place to stay. I'd stay here again if I was on a limited budget.

  small hotel, clean and cheap. at the center of Shinjuku. the stuff are very responsive, and helpful in any respect. my room (one person) was small but any necessity was included. i recommend the public bath, located in the basement.

  The Negatives: The less said about the room the better - uncomfortable bed, bathroom so small you will bang your elbows on the wall every time you move in there. Barely enough floor space to even put the suitcase down.Skip the overpriced breakfast buffet.The POSITIVES: I challenge anyone to find a better located hotel at this price - 10 minute walk to the middle of Shijuku - The heart of Tokyo. Three supermarkets within 2 blocks of the hotel. Located in the middle of the three train lines available in the area.Quiet neighborhoodFriendly and helpful staffPrice, location, price, location.I do recommend asking to move rooms if yours smells, some of the non-smoking rooms stink of smoke. Paying for a larger room also gives you a nice view towards Shinjuku and effectively gives you double the floor space compared to the tiny shoeboxes of the cheaper rooms.
