  I only realized recently that some of my previously written TripAdvisor reviews—including this one for Toshi Center—had disappeared. It’s disappointing when that happens, because we write reviews not only to remember our experiences, but also to give credit to the people who made our stay comfortable, even if the encounter was brief. So I’m rewriting this because the hotel and its staff truly deserve recognition.Toshi Center Hotel is reasonably priced and very convenient, especially if you are attending events nearby—which was the reason for our stay. The rooms are the typical Japanese size: small, compact, but efficient. One thing I appreciate is that they provide comfortable nightwear, so you don’t have to unpack your pajamas if you’re only staying a short time. There is also an in-house restaurant, which makes meals easy and convenient.What really made this stay memorable was the service. After checking out, I realized I had left my phone charger in the room. The front desk lady did not just send someone to look—she personally went up and down the hotel to search for it. She was determined to find it and made sure I went home with it. That level of care and commitment is something you do not forget, and it reflects the exceptional Japanese hospitality many travelers deeply appreciate.Overall, Toshi Center Hotel offers great value, convenience, and thoughtful service. It may be modest in size, but the kindness of the staff made a big difference and left a lasting impression.

  Charged Extra for 35 minutes Early Check-In — Never Again

  This was our first stay at this hotel, and unfortunately it will also be our last. We arrived just 35 minutes before the official check-in time. The front desk informed us that our room was already ready, but we could only access it if we paid an extra 2,000 yen (around $14 USD). Asking for an additional payment when the room is clearly available feels unreasonable and leaves a very negative impression. For a hotel of this level, we expected more flexibility and hospitality. This kind of policy is a red flag, and we will not be returning or recommending this hotel to others.

  Well-appointed hotel whether for family or business

  Very clean and unassumingly elegant hotel that made my stay (2 adults and 3 kids ranging from toddlers to tween) very comfortable. I appreciate the air being fresh in the hotel with no hint of cigarette smell at all. The room configuration was good, I liked that I could close the room door while keeping the corridor lights switched on in the mornings for me to pack the luggages and get ready, etc without disturbing the kids. I stayed the deluxe twin room and it was good for my family with one big luggage, 3 cabin sized luggages and two bigger bags. Breakfast buffet was lovely with a both Japanese and western food. Various selections of tea, coffee, juices, milk. I personally prefer Japanese with all it condiments and my kids took the western with no complaints. Sweet fresh persimmon and pineapples were also on the buffer menu.There is a family mart directly opposite this hotel, such convenience! I enjoyed the tuna onigiri, and also had hot steamed buns (korobuta pork!). Of course snacks galore. Many stations within walkable distance. If you prefer the taxi, we had no problems getting one stepping out of the lobby. The streets itself was peaceful and not too quiet nor busy. The front desk were polite and helpful. Hotel Toshi Centre hotel exceeded my expectations for this price point and I whole-heartedly recommend this well-appointed hotel.

  An interesting location, a good size room - we chose to go 'twin' that extra bit of space. They do a good breakfast, with a nice range of warm and cold, fruit and savoury plus a daily cereal option.The staff on reception are excellent! A warm welcome, a laminated sheet to help guests who are English speaking which is succinct and to the point.The bathroom, compact and well designed and spotlessly clean! Towels changed daily and bin emptied.Little extras to help along the way like cleanser, toner, cottonwood etc (appreciated).Lots of positives.

  Decent hotel for the money

  Stayed at the Toshi for 3 nights. Room was clean and tidy, albeit on the 'compact' side. Breakfast was reasonable for about £10. Staff seemed pleasant although they struggled with English. That said it was much better than my Japanese so I am not complaining. Hotel had free WiFi which was a plus. The selling point of the hotel is location. It is situated between 2 metro stations, both only about 450m away. This gives to access to central Tokyo with a 5 minute train ride.I would more than happily stay again.
