    Great Concept, Needs Refurbishment

    rating16 Oct 2025

So this place has a marvelous concept, well executed, but in serious need of maintenance. The rooms look sort of like the website pics, but having aged quite a bit. This place markets itself as a “5 star luxury resort,” but I would give it 3.5 stars at most. I’ve stayed at 5 star resorts this trip, and this isn’t one of them. Also please note - this is a dry establishment. If you want booze with dinner, you must bring your own. The website does not mention this. The rooms - cool lunar bubbles, with formerly transparent sections. The previously clear parts are now hazy, clouded over, patched, and in generally less than good condition (see pics). The floors are damaged, and things are a bit rickety and need a refurbishment. Aside from that, the beds are super comfortable, as is the bedding, and the pillows are firm without being hard. There are no charging outlets by the bed, and the other outlets may or may not work. The jacuzzi worked, but was cloudy and had sand in the bottom. Overall, great concept - but needs maintenance. In keeping with the 3.5 star rating, you get two bath towels and one hand towel. That’s it. The service - decent. Not especially friendly, aside from the front desk, which was great. The breakfast and dinner staff were just generally indifferent. The food - pretty good. The website doesn’t say so, but both breakfast and dinner are included in the price. The breakfast is nice - standard egg station, along with various hot and cold dishes. Dinner was also good, with several hot dishes, salads, and sides, along with roast lamb and chicken the night I was there, and the lamb was great. Indoor dining only, sadly. NOTE: THEY DO NOT SERVE ALCOHOL! This is a dry establishment. To the best part - the location - fantastic. The desert is magnificent, and don’t miss the jeep safari. Amazing views and unforgettable experience.

Special experience in a bubble fail

    rating09 Sept 2025

Experience started from wrong directions to their car park where you board the 4x4 transfer to the hotel. You have to turn left at the police check point, then passing the petrol station and then it’s the first left into their car park. Took us 40min to find it with their wrong description. When you don’t look too closely, it all appears amazing. When you start looking a bit closer, parts are falling apart. The wooden decks of each bubbles are deteriorating, the covers are falling apart, the indoor floor of the bubbles are broken and uneven, shower is falling apart, the wood inside of the bathroom is old and stained. And yes, I understand that this is the desert and it’s the harshest of environments but maintenance of a facility have to be kept up to scratch if you want to call it luxury. It really seems that nothing has been done for years. It’s a totally different cup of tea if this would be a three star hotel but certainly not worthy 4 or 5 stars. The big deck provides a hammock for two, a whirlpool (where the cover falls apart and looks very scrappy) and two old chairs. As there is no umbrella or protection of the heat, this is just not useable. Although I would not walk around barefoot as screws are loose, wood is deteriorated and you might get splinters. There is no alcohol served on the premises and you also cannot buy any. So if you would like to enjoy a cold beer watching the sunset, you have to bring it yourself. It’s not in any description that this is an alcohol free zone, so be aware and bring it yourself. Smoking is also not allowed in the bubbles, only outside. Tours have to be paid directly in cash or you have to go to the petrol station and pay by card there. You cannot book it into your bill. So bring cash! Staff is friendly and do their best but of course there are limits to what they can do when the facilities are not in a good condition. The biggest surprise was the food. 5 stars for that. It was outstanding and very tasty. This is certainly not a luxury bubble and not a luxury experience and facilities are in desperate need of renovation. Staff and food bring it to 2 stars.

Truly memorable stay……but a bit pricey!

    rating15 Jun 2025

We travelled from London to Jordan for 3 nights, flying into Amman and returning from Aqaba. As our flight arrived in the very early hours of the morning we checked into a hotel close to Amman airport before transferring to Petra for the day and finally onto Wadi Rum for 2 nights. We stayed at the Bubble Luxotel which by all accounts was a fantastic choice albeit being very expensive in comparison to the other bubble camps available in Wadi Rum. The views were stunning and the added touch of the hot tub truly made it a memorable experience. All the staff were very friendly and made an effort to speak to you which I really liked. Yassar, the head chef was present throughout meal times and the fact he remembered my name every time I saw him made it that bit more special. The WiFi was surprisingly great everywhere in the camp and we didn’t experience any interruptions throughout our stay. The activities through the hotel can be expensive so we found our own private driver who picked us up from Amman, arranged a private guide in Petra, dropped us to the camp and returned the following day to take us on a magical 3 hour Jeep safari around Wadi Rum. He also went out of his way at 2am in the morning to help us re-arrange our flights as they were cancelled with the political unrest in neighbouring countries and that alone was priceless. I can’t thank Yahea enough for his help and arranging amazing tours and would highly recommend him to anyone travelling to Jordan. His contact no. if it is of any help to others is +962 7 7776 9917 Don’t be put off with visiting this amazing country as the people are amazing and doesn’t have any trouble from unrest in the rest of the region. The cost of the stay was exceptionally high in comparison to the rest of the camps in Wadi Rum. During the summer months the temperature can be unbearable and the hot tub was great. Only issue was it lacked a canopy of some sort to keep the sun off your head. We improvised and used the hot tub cover to make a makeshift canopy which was ingenious! Also, as we decided to stay at the camp in the afternoon the lunch menu wasn’t great and no snacks available to purchase either. Would recommend bringing your own supplies just in case you get peckish.

A beautiful night under the starry sky

    rating08 Dec 2024

Visited Jordan for a friend's wedding, and finished the trip by spending a night at the Bubble Luxotel Petra with my wife. We were surprised by the beautiful bubble pods we had booked which contained all amenities needed, and the jaccuzzi overlooking a vast red sand valley. To get to the bubble, a group of big shuttles came to pick us up before going on a dune bashing adventure towards the bubbles. Food was good, service was great, and the shisha night was great. Would strongly recommend going for the stargazing activity.
