    I stayed at Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel for a layover in Nairobi. The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to access the CBD and major hubs which was a big plus for my schedule.The standout aspect of my stay was definitely the staff. From reception to housekeeping, everyone was warm, polite, and willing to assist whenever needed. Check-in was smooth and any requests I made were handled professionally by Florence and Joseph.The room was generally clean and comfortable, bed was decent, but noise from the pantry room on and off was quite disturbing. The rooftop area is a nice feature with great skyline views, though it could benefit from better upkeep.Dinner buffet and Breakfast had a fair selection with sumptuous meals, Simon was outstanding at the restaurant service times.

The location is excellent, the facilities are good, and the breakfast was absolutely superb, offering a wonderful variety of delicious options. A very special mention must go to their Americano coffee, without a doubt, the best we’ve had in Kenya.What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. The staff are remarkable warm, friendly, professional, approachable, and consistently delivering service with heart and excellence. We felt genuinely cared for throughout our stay.We would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the team members who went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of memorable, - The reception team, who provided immediate support and thoughtful solutions when we encountered an issue with our room.     Good food, but disorganised service and poor supervisionWe hosted an office party at the Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel, Nairobi, on 31 October 2025 to celebrate 25 years of our firm and the 50th birthday of our longest-serving employee. The food was genuinely good, but the service fell well below expectations. Drinks took far too long to arrive, our server repeatedly forgot items and had to make multiple trips, and the team seemed unfamiliar with basic wine service—struggling to use a corkscrew, unsure how to pour, and even serving a sweet red when we had ordered a dry red. The bar also did not stock Coke Zero, which several guests requested.What made matters worse is that we had to clear used dishes from our own tables because the servers were not doing so. When I asked a supervisor for assistance, he dismissed the request, saying it was not his station. This venue has potential, but it urgently needs better training in bar and wine service, attentive table clearing, and stronger supervisory oversight to match the quality coming out of the kitchen.Date of visit: 31 October 2025
