When we arrived @23.30 you are confronted with a self checking system which would work well if you had prior knowledge of three different code numbers (front gate , main door and lock box to access your room key ) which neither we nor the other party we were with had, apparently we should have received an email with this information but we had not ( our rooms were booked separately at different times on different bookings and neither of us had received said emails so after a number of phone calls to the same number we finally managed to gain entrance to the building , the front door and our rooms . On entering the rooms they were probably the biggest hotel room I had stayed in and were clean and tidy . There is no safe in the room which is inconvenient as you are then forced to carry with you all you valuables ,money and passports . There is no shower in the but there is a bath with a shower hose and head . The bed is enormous but unfortunately the sheet that goes over the mattress was far to small for the mattress so you end up sleeping on a bare mattress and was like this even though the bedding and bottom sheet were changed twice more so not very hygienic considering the people before us and before them had all slept on the same mattress I know I could have complained about a number of things ie lack of toilet paper ,only 1 proper tea bag and 2 green tea bags between two of us for three days between room service but we wasted enough time on our mobile making calls that probably cost a fortune on the first night we arrived so I wasn’t going to do that again . Riga is a city filled with beautiful architecture and history a must to visit but I would not recommend this hotel to my friends and family

A great hotel, in a good location for a good price

I was traveling alone and was looking for accommodation at the last minute. I actually found out by chance that this hotel was reopened, so I took advantage of it right away. I have to say that it was a good decision. It is a modern, clean and friendly place to stay in Riga. Since it is located basically a few steps from the center, this hotel was a very good base for walking and exploring various interesting corners of Riga. The ratio of the quality of accommodation and services to the requested price is very favorable. In short ... a great hotel, in a good location for a good price. For me, it is definitely a thumbs up. Loved the Digital Check-In and Location!

I had a great stay! The hotel was very clean, and in a perfect location—central but peaceful. Freshly renovated room. What I especially appreciated was the fully digital self check-in process. I was looking for a stay with minimal interaction, and this setup was ideal. Everything worked smoothly, and I could access everything I needed without talking to anyone. We had a truly pleasant stay at Rija Riga City Hotel. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the Old Town and close to all major attractions, yet in a quiet area perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast had a great variety and was fresh and tasty each morning. A great value for the price—we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Riga and would gladly stay here again!
