Slightly out of town, but a great place in which to stay. Self service reception, so need WhatsApp, the hotel is very clean, tidy and quiet. We had a fabulous stay. Our room was good for two of us, wardrobe and bathroom with bath and shower over bath. Do download the Bolt app for taxis, an extremely fast and efficient way to travel over Riga.

Nice breakfast. Quite a number of options available. It was nice and quite. We used to go eat as soon as the breakfast opens at 7.30am and itwas very nice and quite eating in the dining room, all by ourselves

What a lovely experience staying at Gertrude hotel. Great customer service and yes we had a few issues but they were fixed and so quickly. The hotel itself is in a great location and is beautifuly different. Would o go back definitely would I recommend most definitely thank you so much for everything

A very dated old fashioned hotel with decor from the seventies.A system of self check in went ok but with nobody on site then I wouldn't have wanted any issues.The pros - you get a free room safe. It's walkable to the city centre or use Bolt to get a cab.The cons - the rooms are weary and small. A horrible carpet and old curtains with a rock hard bed. Shower is ok but nothing great. Air con is very noisy.The lay out of the corridors is weird with rooms everywhere. WiFi isn't great.The worst thing though was the smell in the corridors, it was absolutely rancid and boak inducing. Would not return.

If you like to pay for an outdated, worn & shabby hotel with creepy red carpeted dark halls, like "The Shining", with beds so hard you feel the springs through the mattress...then don't!Don't expect any explanation, when the fire alarm goes early morning and everybody rushed out, to find out nothing is happening.Only hours later l got a reply on WhatsApp that it went on by accident! It felt unsafe with no staff at all.Oh yes just to your information, every contact with the staff is via WhatsApp. There's no staff in hand. Only some cleaning in the morning.It felt like a hostel.
