  Very disappointing stay.For the first two nights there were extremely loud fireworks and explosive bangs across the water late into the night, making it almost impossible to sleep in the sea-view room we paid for. This ongoing disturbance is not mentioned anywhere on the hotel’s website or booking description.After two sleepless nights the hotel allowed us to use a second room on the other side of the property just to sleep, which meant walking between rooms late at night and again in the morning. This is clearly not the experience you expect when booking a hotel stay.To make matters worse, the pillows were removed from that second room during the night, causing yet another disturbance while we were trying to rest.We sent multiple messages explaining the situation and requesting a simple goodwill refund for the two heavily disrupted nights. These messages were either ignored or dismissed, and the hotel ultimately refused any compensation, saying the noise was “outside the hotel”.Overall the handling of the situation was poor, dismissive, and unhelpful. The lack of accountability and communication left a very negative impression of the hotel.

  Reasonable value for what you get, but a little out of the way.

  LOCATION. Resorts World is at the extreme south of the Pantai Chenang area, at the end of a long private road/ driveway. So don’t expect to walk to any shops or restaurants.Grab cars and taxis do exist in Langkawi, but don’t EXPECT to be able to get one as they are as rare as hen’s teeth. And there are very few Grab food delivery drivers to be seen. You’ll either need to hire a car, arrange pickup for tours or ask the hotel about its shuttle bus. We hired a car, which also gave us greater options regarding exploring the island, eating out etc.THE HOTEL. The hotel itself is quite old and is in need of refurbishment. The rooms are comfortable, but ours was ‘tired’. If you have a sea view room, the view is spectacular.We stayed for 4 nights. Hotel policy is to service the rooms every 4 days unless requested, with self-use refill stations for the two 1 litre glass drinking water bottles provided (not unusual). That is, unless you ask, you get 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 set of tea/ coffee and one pair of towels for 2 people for up to 4 days (unless you contact house-keeping. Repeatedly).Our room had a tiled entryway with separate shower and toilet rooms, and the glazed tiles were slippery when wet.Breakfast is reasonable cost at RM40 each, but the buffet food selection is ‘barely adequate’, with a handful of choices for each of Western, Asian and Indian guests. Diabetics, bring your own non-sugar sweetener (as is usual in Malaysia).There doesn’t appear to be a convenience store or vending machines in the hotel. Given the heat and humidity (we were there at the end of December) you will need to buy outside a number of water bottles to take with you when going out (and refill on your return) - most tours do not provide drinks. When we did the 5 hour mangrove tour my wife and myself both each drank about 1.5 litres of water and were still nearly dehydrated.I can’t comment on the two on-site restaurants, as we dined out, other than breakfasts. We also didn't use the pool and other facilities, so I can't comment on those.Service by staff is quite prompt and cheerful.OVERALL. 4 Star accommodation and service – just. Reasonable value, but a little out of the way unless you hire a car (free car parking).

  My 2-Night Stay at Resorts World Langkawi – Great Location for Island Hopping

  I stayed at Resorts World Langkawi for 2 nights recently, and I honestly wish I had booked it for my entire trip. Sharing my experience here in case someone is planning to visit Langkawi.Location: The hotel is directly connected to the jetty point for island hopping, which turned out to be incredibly convenient. If you’re staying anywhere else in Langkawi, you’ll probably have to come to this same jetty anyway, so having it right at the property saved us a lot of time and hassle.Jetty & Activities:The hotel also offers island hopping booking services with their trusted partners. I used their booking help and felt comfortable knowing the operators were reliable.Rooms & Overall Stay: The stay was genuinely comfortable and peaceful. The place has a calm atmosphere and the sea-facing view was beautiful, especially in the morning. On top of it, the hotel has infinity pool which is the perfect thing to start your morning with the raising sun.Spa: I was checking prices for the spa and only then realised that if I had booked 3 nights instead of 2, I would have gotten a free spa treatment. A little sad about that because it would have been a nice addition — but well, you learn for next time.Food: I am a North Indian and I don’t eat non-veg, so I am usually particular about food while travelling. The buffet here actually surprised me — I enjoyed it a lot. Good variety and good taste.I’d rate the stay around 9/10. If someone is planning to do island hopping in Langkawi, this hotel is especially convenient.

  In the end of May 2025, we stayed in Resort World, Langkawi during our weeklong family trip. Point to note that this resort is bit far from Cenang Pantai and Kuah (Jetty point of Langkawi with mainland Malaysia). One must rent a vehicle to explore island and we took a rental car, which turned out to be a really good decision, knowing that most of the island attractions are scattered across the island. Of course driving on these picturesque roads has its own joy.The resort had offered everything we could have dreamed after coming from busy and tiring KL trip.We were hoping for a nice sun rise view, calm isolation, noise of sea waves instead of traffic and we got everything here. Resort has its own marina and another one just close by where you can get boats (private or sharing for island hoping).Resort highlights includes its huge area, BOARDWALK, marina and infinity pool. Truly speaking, we liked and spent a lot of time in infinity pool. Infinity Pool timings are 8 AM to midnight, so we can start our day with a dip in there as well as can sit along the pool till late night.The resort has few restaurants inside its property (like independent third-party food outlets). Most importantly they have an Indian restaurant (Spice Garden).
