Location

The hotel is located in the heart of the city of Kota Kinabalu. Within a short walk from the hotel, guests will find the famous Gaya Street Sunday market, tourist attractions, the commercial business district, shopping centres, restaurants, the night market, bars and entertainment outlets. Nearby places of interest include the Sabah Museum (approximately 4 km), Water World Theme Park (approximately 7 km), Monsopiad Cultural Village (approximately 15 km) and Poring Hot Spring (approximately 125 km away). Kota Kinabalu International Airport is approximately 8 km away from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 15 junior suites, 3 suites and 162 double rooms, which are located on 13 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and central heating. Most units have a sea view. Guests are sure to get a good night's sleep in the king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Slippers are included. Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area.     Great place to stay in terms of location. Shops, markets, Gaya St etc all 2-3 minutes walk. If you are wanting a resort with big grounds, greenery and beach access, this is not it. But if you want beautiful rooms ( I booked sea view and saw the sunset from my room which was spectacular), fabulous accessible location with everything in walking distance, then this is it.Rooms are lovely, clean and bed is very comfortable. Only thing that is a bit strange is the sink and a lovely bath is in the main room area. Handy if there are 2 people getting ready maybe and one is in the shower room but you do hear the next door guests turn on and off the water in the sink. Not too noisy but you can hear it.Pool is nice enough but not really space to sunbathe - it looked smaller than it did in the photos on the website. Breakfast was fine but. bit boring after a few days as it is mostlly the same. Bakery section, hot section with curry, noodles, rice, beans eggs, a salad section and some soup type things. So multi cultural but samey.Staff were all lovely. I did ask about some local places but they did not seem to have much info, so I would suggest that management hold a meeting now and again to ensure staff can advise on normal tourist things like restaurants, markets, shops and salons as these are often what guests may look for.On check in they request a deposit so make sure you kee the envelope handy when you check out. I would stay here again and will recommend to friends.

    I had 3 nights to stay in Kota Kinabalu and chose the Horizon Hotel for a combination of cost, location and a pool with great sunset views (it's on the 6th floor!-)The "Waterfront" area is a short walk past the big local produce market and both are interesting places to visit (for different reasons obviously!)The hotel was spotless and (for me) a very easy place to stay.

    Nice enough hotel in a reasonable location. Room was clean and comfortable. We were getting confusing inforrmation from staff about where we could eat. Had a couple of drinks in the bar when we arrived and the guy behind the bar was very nice and friendly. Later when we went to eat our dinner in the bar we were told they had no beer left which we found incredible for a supposed 4 star hotel. Could be better.

    Check- in and check-out was a breeze( MYR 100 deposit required but refundanble upon checking - out.)Our room for 3 pax was welcoming.Room smell fresh with welcome note ( addressee ) coupled with fresh fruits and cookies on the dining table in the room.Breakfast spread was good through out our stay.Housekeeping deserves praises from all of us. Daily replenishment of towels( clean n Crisp), toothbrush, shavers n room slippers. We always returned to a clean n fresh room after our outing. We like that the shower and the toilet was separated. Water pressure in the shower was good and so was the heater. Hotel location is near all amenities as well as airport.

    Lovely hotel in middle of city, nice pool and well equipped gym. Room extremely spacious, all amenities. Wonderful food, beautiful cakes served as dessert for our anniversary although huge portions. Sevrine our waitress very attentive and memorable - great asset to the team.
